Electronic Countermeasures
Electronic Countermeasures: Much like the Gidim class Bomber; the Gaav class Shuttle is equipped with a sophisticated EMC array to provide it additional defense and a means to avoid incoming fire from enemy positions or vessels.
Boarding Tubes: The Gaav class Shuttle is capable of attaching to an enemy vessel or friendly vessel and deploy a boarding tube. This allows the Shuttle to take on or offload Hellknights from friend vessels; or in the case of an enemy vessel, permit its passengers to board said vessel.
Unarmed: The Gaav class Shuttles lacks any kind of offensive means and is incapable of firing upon enemy vessels. To this end it often requires a starfighter escort or to have an area cleared of enemy vessels or air power to ensure that it is capable of carrying out its intended purpose unharmed.
The Gaav class Shuttle is simple as that, an unarmed shuttle utilized by the Hellknights to move their forces from various vessels, land on enemy worlds or even board enemy vessels. Due to it being unarmed, it is heavily dependent on escort vessels to aid it and ensure its safety. Its defenses are minimal, meaning that while it is capable of withstanding sustained fire from enemy starfighters, it would not be capable of withstanding a sustained assault from a larger vessel.
Often they are not deployed unless enemy vessels have been disabled - usually by the Hamatula class Cruiser - or if the Hellknights have secured the airspace and begun to land additional forces and supplies to the world below.
