STRENGTHS

Dual Hangar Bay - The GADF Mist-class was designed with an innovative tiered Hangar Bay that allows for easy transition between the two hangars. This design ensures that a Starfighter Squadron can be easily taken on, rearmed and supplied, and rapidly redeployed in less time to ensure a steady stream of Starfighters into an engagement.

Heavy Carrier - With a design focus on increasing its Hangar Capacity, the GADF Mist-class is capable of carrying an increased number of Starfighter Squadrons.

WEAKNESSES

Sublight Drive Systems - The primary drive systems of the GADF Mist-class are split between and located in two separate nacelles on either side of the vessel resulting in its strange elongated design. These results in a drive system that can be easily damaged, crippling the Capital Ship.

Hangar Bay Navigation - Due to the hangar bays being located to the aft of the Capital Ship the design can often result in difficulty for pilots to land on or deploy from the vessel. This can often result in more inexperienced pilots colliding with one another on approach or egress, or result in a collision with one of the port or starboard nacelles.

Ungainly - The GADF Mist-class was not designed for speed or maneuverability and is often described as handling like a barn in space.

DESCRIPTION

The GADF Mist-class Carrier is a newer design of Hapan-inspired Capital Ships that blend the Hapan People's deep love of beauty with the organic designs of the Mon Calamari starships resulting in a Capital Ship that is a blend of the two cultures which can be seen in its bulbous forward design and sweeping lines and angles. The GADF Mist-class was designed to focus on its capability to carry Starfighters which can be seen in its increased hangar capacity which is coupled with an innovated dual hangar design that is intended to ease the transition of craft from one hangar to the next. This design was to ensure that a Starfighter could land in the hangar to rearm, resupply, and be redeployed in faster time and ensure that the Starfighters spent less time out of an engagement than necessary. However, the main drawback of this design can be seen in the location of the hangar bay being located towards the aft of the ship between the two nacelles that house the Sublight Drive Systems. The location has been known to cause more inexperienced pilots to collide with one another or collide with the nacelles on either side of the vessel, resulting in damage to the Capital Ship. Likewise, due to the nacelles housing the Sublight Drive Systems, their exposed and easily accessibility can result in damage to the main drives, crippling the Capital Ship. The overall design of the GADF Mist-class shows a willingness of the Hapan People to work with other denizens of the Galaxy by incorporating the design aspects and aesthetics of the Mon Calamari whilst also providing a Heavy Carrier to the Galactic Alliance Defense Force. Its capability to carry an increased number of Starfighter Squadrons can potentially mean the difference between success or defeat for a Fleet or Armada and may even be the deciding factor in some engagements in the coming conflict.
