Though his body is not what it once was, his presence commands respect from his Mandalorian peers and he is often looked to for guidance in both military and political affairs.

Biography
Gael bar Ammon, himself, strange enough is an enigma to his contemporaries as to everyone. He is counted among the great warriors of his generation, yet he takes no pleasure in feats of combat and has never engaged in a conflict in which he did not believe in the cause. His commanding presence draws men to his side, yet he had no close friends. When asked about it by a student at the Royal Academy of Government, he was unable to answer.
While many pursue other avenues with their careers and lives, Gael voluntarily enlisted into the Mandalorian Armed Forces. He fell in line and did his duty without question or remorse. Despite his unwavering loyalty and sometimes carrying out gray tasks given to him by his superiors, he was regarded as a man of great character and honor. As he rose through the ranks, his subordinates held him in great regard. His peers and superiors did not feel the same however. Gael had been investigating corruption in the Mandalorian Armed Forces but was discharged before he could do anything further. Realizing his time in the service was done sooner than he had desired, he turned to the University of Coruscant to enhance his knowledge of the galaxy. Shortly after graduating, he was invited to pass on his learning and experience to the cadets of the Royal Academy of Government. The cadets saw him the same way they saw his subordinates did which convinced Gael to stay; the nostalgia every day reminded him of the glory days in the forces.
He was eventually tapped to become the Foreign Minister for Mandalore and her territories, citing his experience in the service and uncommon knack for politics. However, his time in office was short-lived as the Alor'e Council detested politics and refused to delegate, even in light of their poor political experience. The office of foreign minister was rendered moot, as it required frequent communication and coordination with the Alor'e Council. He abdicated his position shortly after coming to this realization.
Taking note of spurned relations with the Galactic Republic, Gael saw a window of opportunity to bridge the divide between the two factions. Of his own accord, with the support of a couple Mandalorians of prominence, Gael approached the Supreme Chancellor to inquire about the possibility of the creation of a new office, one that might mend the broken relations between the United Clans of Mandalore and the Galactic Republic. This office would be that of the Republic Ambassador to the United Clans of Mandalore, a special envoy dedicated to furthering the interests of both parties. Additionally, Gael has taken a placeholder position as the Senator of Azure in order to get involved in the legislative process.
During his time in the Galactic Republic, Gael made a significant impact in a rather short amount of time. As the Republic's Ambassador to Mandalore, he accompanied the Republic delegation to Alderaan where he played a major role in the negotiations between the Galactic Republic, United Clans of Mandalore, and the Queen of Alderaan, [member="Arianna Organa"]. He further made his impact as the Senator from Azure. On Denon, he observed the workings of the newly created Republic Force Enclave before the Sith and Yuuzhan Vong attacked. After the attacks, with the assistance of the Jedi at the Enclave and the Senate Commandos, he successfully evacuated the system with the Governor of Denon. Subsequently, he coordinated the Denonite counteroffensive action against the Sith and Yuuzhan Vong from a Republic star destroyer. Before his tenure in Republic politics ended, he spearheaded efforts in the Senate alongside Senator [member="Caius Flavian"] to create Senate committees which would streamline Senate efforts in Republic politics. He chaired the Armed Services Committee and served on the Senate Appropriations Committee.
Invoking the Resol'nare, the Alor of House Verd, [member="Isley Verd"], called Gael and other Republic-affiliated Mandalorians from their post to return to their new home. Honor bound, Gael answered the call to serve the newfound Mandalorian Empire as best he could.
