Gal Hix
"Runner of the Great Kashyyyk Branch"

Age: 22
Species: Human
Gender: Male

Weight: 185 lbs.

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION

Gal is always wanting to blend in with the crowd and never drawing any attention to himself. Sporting his signature green poncho and battered, worn leather pilot boots along with his trusty brown satchel on his back. Gal stands tall at just over 6', but people mistake him as a beggar or scrapper due to his messy, scraggy light brown hair that hasn't had a spa day since his childhood. However, upon closer inspection, one can see the many scars that sprinkle themselves on his neck and face, but most notably a scar on his right temple. That one from from a scuffle with a rival gang leader many years ago. Only, the gang leader left with something much worse that day.

INVENTORY

Gal always believed in his mentor's motto: Carry light. Therefore, he only keeps the most essential items in his bag. The contents are secrets to those he doesn't trust, but he is willing to say that his most illusive in the satchel in his animal skin bound journal that records his adventures and secret hyperspace lanes that he uses for his business. Other than that, is of the most "hush hush"

Other than the items bound in his satchel, Gal sports his iconic 434 death hammer, modified of course. The blaster comes with no scope, but instead a reinforced barrel and wood grain handle. He tried to mirror it to his teacher's as much as he can, but looks can only go so far when it comes to the weapon of a scoundrel.

His ship, on the other hand, has truly earned him the title of "Runner of the Great Kashyyyk Branch". The Deviant named for his nature, is Gal's most prized possession. A ship that truly speaks in volumes, has become the very essence of Gal. Like a baby to him, Gal keeps the Deviant in its most tip-top shape, whatever the cost. To lose that ship would be to lose the very meaning of life for Gal.

PERSONALITY AND BELIEFS

Ever heard of "Your business is yours and mine is mine"? Gal preaches this saying everywhere he goes. He never entangles himself in matters that do not concern him and would rather walk away. This deeply held belief is what has saved him many times throughout his life. This principle that he holds also commends to his secluded nature. Even with those closest to him, he is still, as ever, a mystery that few can only scratch the surface of.

Gal is known to be quiet, but if you get enough drinks in him, he will be the life of the party. His charisma has carried him only in drunken conversations. Everything else remains on his somewhat wobbly intellect.

Once befriended, Gal is as loyal as they come. Whatever trouble you may find yourself in within the galaxy, you can always count on Gal to have your back until the end.

STRENGTHS

+Gunner - Gal holds himself well in battle as long as he's playing dirty.
+Concealment - A smuggler at heart, and one who never wants anyone on his tail, Gal is able to hide himself easily and is mostly always able to evade authorities.
+Loyalty - Gal is loyal to those who prove themselves to him, but to earn that loyalty, one must truly carry themselves well around the smuggler.

WEAKNESSES

-Until the very end - Gal has been known to stay in whatever mess until it is done either with his life or his opponent's. He is a headstrong man, but with it comes a steep price for those that tag along with him on jobs. He never lets a loose end manifest.

-Overly exerting - Whether to brag, or simply pull off a ship trick he saw many rotations ago, Gal always goes full throttle. Paired with his eagerness to fully finish what he had started, he becomes someone who is either out of their mind or just plain stupid.

- Loner - It's simple: less cargo the better and less loose ends to deal with. Even with his loyalty, Gal always prefers to keep his circles small. He never wants to have another betrayal happen again.

HISTORY

Born on the planet, Kowak, to a noble diplomat, Gal Hix had become the heir to the estate of the Hix dynasty. His life had already been mostly paved thanks to his lineage and his overbearing Father, Bannen, who aspired to have his son live a lavish life in politics and quaint social circles. To put it simply, Gal hated it. He would journey with his father on Diplomatic Convoys to establish trade relations with neighboring planets, completely bored out of his mind to the point of pulling pranks on fellow politicians to have some kind of fun. Other children his age, also born of nobility, saw Gal as nothing more than a black sheep and something to be fed to the kowakian ape-lizards. The part of his early life that he despised the most, however, was the Zygerrian Slave Trade that dominated most of the planet. Many bureaucrats saw it as a necessity of the system's wide economic reach, but Gal saw it as nothing more than openly displaying the very evil that never-endingly plagues the galaxy. One night, out of desperation to set things right, he would join a small rebellion to free a number of these slaves, which led to his exile at his Father's request as an alternative to the standard punishment for a crime such as this: execution.

In this exile, Gal knew not of privilege nor pleasantries. Exiled to the southern outer rim territories, to the planet of Socorro, Gal would begin his teenage years as a an apprentice laborer at the star ports which drove most of the planet's economy. There, he befriended a woman, Tal-il, who was older than Gal and served as a mentor to navigating life as a loner. The pair would work together on odd jobs when his laboring days were more comfortable and Kowak had forgotten about his deeds when freeing the slaves, preferring to telling his tale to children who dare act against the slave trade. Once at this stage in his life, he had learned his true calling: smuggling. Smuggling illegal spice, in fact, and Tal-il had devised her own rag tag team of misfits attending errands for the Hutts and other crime syndicates with Gal running with them on many successful missions. One run in particular, would earn him the title of "Runner of the Great Kashyyyk Branch" which will have be told at another time, perhaps over a Corellian ale.

However, as all seemingly good things come, there must always be a sour end to this prodigy's smuggling. After many years and many credits, Gal had his own starship and crew acting under the name: The Deviants, which he had named his starship after as well. Gal would eventually be betrayed by his mentor and close friend, Tal-il over a bounty that held a small sum of ten-thousand credits. Devastated and alone, Gal had no choice but to flee his capture as he learned of the tale through his crew, who learned of the plot from Tal-il herself. Over the remaining years to the present, Gal had been from one end of the corner of the galaxy to the next, participating in wild and outlandish tales and stories that could truly only be told in its charming fashion in an outback cantina. Now, he still wanders, trying to make a name of himself and himself only. To become the deviant. To become the smuggler he has dreamed of.
