Well, I'll admit this feels weird since this has been Corvus's thing for as long as I can remember. However, since it's such a good idea to keep everyone informed and opens up dialogue with members, the Galactic Republic Weekly News will be remaining.
So, while we wait for Tefka to make the switch completely official, I thought I would get this up so some information can be shared and people can stop wondering about things.
First off, the Faction Admins that will initially be helping me will be Gir Quee and [member="Geneviève[FONT=arial] Lasedri"][/FONT] as I wanted people who were part of the other branches of the Republic to be a part of the leadership team, not just Jedi. Doing so I hope will create a more balanced focus on the Republic. Corvus Raaf will be remaining a moderator so she can work on the Jedi Order's pages.
Secondly, the membership approval system that has been in place will be done away with very soon. Personally, I have always found it as sort of something that sets the Republic off from other free to join factions and that can discourage some people from joining and participating. I do see the point in keeping it as it does let us greet each new member, but the cons outweigh the pros. However, if trolls or Sith characters that don't have the intention of defecting join, they will be kicked.
Third, dominions will be opened for anyone to start. I think that if someone can get a group of people together and wants to dominion a planet in the name of the Republic, I say have fun and how can I help. With that said, there are currently two dominions ongoing that could always use more help.Brentaal IV and Rhommamool/Osarian are both live, but could always use more help.
Fourth, some minor changes to organization will be happening in the near future. Nothing major, but felt it was worth a mention.
Fifth, there is a skirmish with certain elements of the Mandalorians coming up on Ruusan. The sign-up thread can be found here and it shall be determined by PvP fights on who gets the prize.
Sixth, as I mentioned the other thing above, I feel it should be also pointed out that our fleet forces are currently raiding Anaxes. If someone wants to help out in the ship fighting, even leading boarding and sabotage teams on the Sith installations in orbit, the thread can be found here
Seventh, a few IC building projects, both by the Jedi and the military, are being planned and should be starting soon. A new temple on Ruusan and the building of defenses on other Republic worlds are on the agenda, but if someone else has an idea of what they want to build or develop, let myself or the others admins know so we can get a nice list put together
Eighth, finally, and maybe most importantly, I want to hear back from you the members. What do you want the Republic to do IC or OOC? I'll be starting a thread every week that will just be a place to post up ideas on what people want to see happening as I feel everyone needs to have some say in the faction.
