Corvus Raaf
Adieu...
Two major pieces of news this time around, so I’ll centre on those.
Firstly the first focused invasion of the OS in living history happens this weekend. I know we did invade Prakith a while back but it was a simultaneous effort where we defended Kashyyyk at the same time. This time it’s the OS that have everything to lose.
If you haven’t signed up, the thread is here and if you want to catch up with all the OOC gossip, you should head here.
We have a fleeting objective, a PvP objective and finally an NPCvNPC objective. So there’s something for everyone that wants to sock it to the One Sith.
The other bit of news is that the voting has started for the new Faction Leader and the thread to go to is here.
Whenever I think of the term FL, I am reminded of the speech Tefka gave when I was FA of a Minor Faction that was going Major. I think I’d only been on the boards a couple of months. His words have stayed with me ever since and you’ll have to indulge me by reading them again. He said that, unlike a Minor Faction, a Major belongs to its members. The GR does not belong to me and you are not my members. The GR is yours and I’ve been so impressed that we’ve not only almost trebled in size since I became an FA back in last November to over 620 characters – but that the IC leadership has flourished and taken this Faction to where it is today. It’s people like you that make the FL job easy. And I don’t just mean the few that are named – but everyone that goes out on the boards and recruits, or participates in development threads or volunteers to take part in working groups.
It’s easy to forget that last October, we were effectively asked to vote how to best wind the GR down. Merge with the OP or become a Minor Faction and play the role of rebels. Remain as the GR and fight on wasn’t an option on the table at the time. But we – and I mean the rank and file members – decided we didn’t like any of the choices on offer and so we stuck to our principles and the two hundred or so characters at the time dug deep and turned things around.
So in that spirit, I know that whoever you chose to become the new FL will have the support of you all and that you will never lose your voice and…above all…you’ll stay classy Galactic Republic.
