Intent: As a memorial to all the fallen warriors that died capturing Contruum and all the brave men and women who have given the ultimate sacrifice in the war against the Republic.
Classification: War Memorial
Location: Contruum, The mountain region, Near the former Republic Garrison.
Affiliation: One Sith, Contruum
Description:
Built into a mountain side, the Memorial is actually carved into the side of a massive stone, depicting the Sith Lords Vrag, Reverance, Sage Bane, several of the warriors and One Sith leaders that have spearheaded the last half of the Great War along with General Isamu “Duracrete” Baelor. At the Base of the mountain, below the massive stone carving the names of every major unit to have fought in the war have been engraved in a durasteel plate with the words “Let None Forget” emblazoned on the plate in aurodium. Light fixtures have been positioned to illuminate the carving and the plate during the night or in the rain.
At the top of the mountain sits a lone statue of three soldiers, the words, “United We Conquer” at the base. The statue stands four meters tall and depicts two human soldier and a Yuuzhan Vong. Each one marks the soldiers and warriors who have lived and died in hopes of destroying the Republic at the Dark Lord’s command.
Within the mountain there is a cave accessible from a mining shaft on the opposite side of the mountain from the carving. This shaft is five hundred meters and has numerous durasteel blast doors closing it off, almost like a doomsday bunker might have. The cave it opens up to has a natural water spring pond, stalactites, stalagmites, ledges, and large columns up to the roof of the cave. This is what is known as Vraggle Rock, a meeting place of Leaders and a hidden sanctum for the Sith to retreat to after a long day of press conferences and other publicity they may be forced into for being at the War Memorial. A small flock of Hawk-Bats live in the side tunnels of the cave but stay away from the torch lit main chamber.
History:
The Mountain overlooks the site of the battle of Contruum from several kilometers away, but was not actually a position that hosted any of the actual conflict. It was used as a Command Center for some One Sith Officers, but following the battle, the architects decided to use this mountain rather than the structurally unstable one the Republic had used as a Garrison.
During its construction it was the site of the Great War Memorial Congregation, a massive celebration of the lives of those who sacrificed everything to see the success of the Dark Lord’s vision.
