Galactica Universalis 4

[member="Anja Aj'Rou"] [member="Darth Kentarch"] [member="Darth Vornskr"]

We knew this was coming. :p

So, for anyone who doesn't get the name, it's a play off Europa Universalis 4 (EU4) a historical grand strategy game.

We will do later threads for Galactic Emperors 2 and Mandalore 2 possibly. :p

I'll start off by saying that the Republic must have some pretty lousy Republican Tradition by now. :p

EUIV in space? Don't look at the comets.

I may be taking away focus from what you originally intended, but I'm curious. How many here play EUIV?

I've poured countless of hours into CK2. A few months ago, I picked up EUIV, and I'm enjoying it immensely. Feels a lot more flexible than CK2, especially in terms of the peace deals. That being said, love the intrigue and room for storytelling in CK2. Those two are probably my favourite games.

Pick up Vicky 2 if you get the chance, it's a change of pace but much more in depth.

I love both EU4 and CK2. Waiting for EU4 to get the full 1.13 patch before I start a big game again.

Primeval : -10 tolerance of heathens? :p

Theocracies only get old men as leaders...so how did you end up leading Primeval? :p

Sith also had a tech advantage with ships, but the Republic has since caught up. Lost their 4/5/5/4 Admiral though >.>
C'mon, give me a 6 manoeuvre rating for ringing an Immortal with an MC180. :p

Vicky 2 is maddeningly difficult until you figure it out, then it's just maddening at times. Fantastic though.

I kinda wish they had a game encompassing all of the time periods from CK II, EUIV, and Vicky2... with the Vicky2 engine...

Idk, something about the way it looks and feels appeals to me :p

I'm actually trying to think out what the Ideas and traditions of each Major faction would be.

So here.

One Sith. Goverment: Absolute Monarchy. Type: Empire.

Traditions
-25% Unjustified demands
+1 Leader shock

Ideas

The Dark Lord of the Sith: One man will rule both a leader of our nation and our Religion. We will not fall prey to conflicted interests of democracy, and its inevitable corrupt plutocratic regime. One Man a Dark Lord of the Sith and Emperor shall be the final law of our lands. -10% Stability cost modifier

Forming of an Empire: The Sith will form a bureaucratic Imperial state run by those who are both willing and capable. Exceptional performance will be rewarded, and failure will not be tolerated by those who serve the Sith. With this Imperial system the Empire will run much more effectively then other galactic governments. +10% Production efficiency

The Sith Code: Based off the dark side of the force, our force-users will become masters of death itself and use fear and powerful emotions to aide themselves in battle. Passions, victory, and most of all the idea that peace is a lie will guide the Sith in their ambition to conquer the galaxy. -0.05 Monthly war exhaustion

The Stormtrooper Corps: An independent military branch that will operated alongside the Imperial Army and Navy. These soldiers will serve as the Empire's enforces and elite shock troopers. The Stormtrooper Corps will have a very effective and specialized order of battle and specific role to enforce the will of the Emperor. +10% Infantry combat ability

Sith Intelligence and Assassination: The One Sith will reorganize intelligence operations under the administration of a Sith Lord. Already infamous for its depth, complexity, and secrecy, this newly reformed organization will bleed the Sith's enemies white before the fighting starts. +15% National spy defense, +20% Spy offence.

Dissolution of Democratic Governments: With a Sith based Imperial leadership, planets will be will now be overseen by members of the Sith respectively. With local governments now having merely a token role in the affairs of their own peoples. -0.05 Monthly autonomy

Purges: The Sith and the Emperor will seek to eradicate the Jedi and all dissidents from the Empire, and unconquered territories beyond. All those who oppose the Dark Lord and Emperor will be branded as traitors, and hunted down with extreme prejudice. Permanent casus belli against all other religious groups. +2% Missionary strength

Ambitions
-25% Core-creation cost

How about that? [member="Valiens Nantaris"]

Nice! Really nice.

Did you want to split take some of the major factions and I'll do the others and we'll see what ideas for them we come up with?

[member="Darth Vornskr"]
Reason that can't be done is that demographics for even 1836 was hard for them to get...trying to get them for 1444 or 1066 or heaven forbid 867 would be impossible.
A single mega campaign would be nice, but too many things change. EU4 is really the only viable type of system to do that.
