Galadin Jax has been many things. A drifter, vagabond, mercenary, soldier, orphan. Yet as years come and go, he still finds himself homesick for a place he has never been and he still feels lost in a vast, endless Galaxy. He desperatly clings on to the Force, one and only ally he has ever known, helplessly desiring an answer in it, perhaps a greater purpose. His heart is ablaze, alive with a fierce zeal, an unsurpassable hunger for knowledge and power. He has promised himself, never to be weak, helpless again. He may have been alone and deserted in the past, but now he has tasted power, fought his wars, both within and outer. Strength is one thing he truly needs and nothing else.
Origins
He had a simple yet ill-fated childhood. Ne never knew his family. He was abandoned as a newborn. Somewhere in the Outer Rim, a planet he does not even recall anymore. He was found and taken in by some simple farmers. But then something terrible came to him. War. Ungoverned and impoverished, distant worlds in the Outer Rim were cared little for, and left ravaged at the hands of many travelling armies and brutal battles. Galadin had to run for his life, his adoptive parents were murdered before him and his house was reduced to ashes. As a little boy he then took to the streets, leading a life of simple thieving and pickpocketing. He was small and could easily avoid attention, but he was desperate. He had to steal constantly and without error. Of course, such a thing was not possible and eventually he got caught by a pack of slavers. They took him off-world, with several other unfortunate souls, and that is how he left his world, never to return.
Survival
Poorly fed and ill-treated at the hand of lowly slave traders, Jax encountered a great deal of hardship. Such conditions as a child proved difficult for him to overcome. Every now and then he got sick and his health weakened. Before he could be harmed any longer, he was purchased, as luck would have it, by a mysterious figure, an old man. Galadin was relieved but he remained cautios for he knew nothing of the man. This mysterious figure, led a life of secrecy and endless studies. At first Galadin failed the grasp the nature of his works. But after a few years passed and he grew up, man opened up to him. He was a Force user, a master of dark arts, of sorcery and unnerving fighting ways. It all seemed strange to the boy. He knew nothing of such things. He was further shocked once he was told to start practice himself. He was gifted. A special case, he could be groomed and raised as an apprentice, a servant and a learner, that is what he was told. And that is why he was purchased. Soon after this he began an unforgiving training agenda. His master was demanding and intolerant. He was forced to work hard, his body and his mind alike pushed to the limit and he nearly broke down under the relentless drills. But he advanced, and as years went by he survived and adapted. This dark sorcerer taught him well, passing on valuable information about the Force and how to use it, bend it to his well. Galadin was a quick-learner. He constructed a lightsaber of his own, and as his tutelage progressed, he learned how to use it. His master held distaste for the weapon, dismissing it as a simple tool well-suited for brutes. But Galadin had an affinity for it, and he liked to practice fighting, developing into a fine lightsaber duelist.
He had little love for his master, since he was treated as little more than a slave-soldier and he was expected to obey the commands he was given. Old man never could be a father figure for him. In fact he hated the man, almost holding him to blame for all the misfortune he had faced in his earlier years. Dark Side tainted him, filling the boy with hatred, anger and an unbreakable drive. His will was stronger than ever and one day, during yet another unbearable training, hurling of insults and verbal torment at each small mistake proved to be too much for the kid and he went mad. He turned on his master with overwhelming hatred and cold discipline turned to rage. The old man responded with the full power of the dark side and inflicted great pain, burns and bruises but the boy would not give up. His raw power was vast and his hatred ran deep, he overcame the pain, and managed to slay his master after a deadly duel. But it left him scarred. In more ways than physically. This was his fall, after such an intense experience of suffering and fear, and the ultimate victory it brought, the boy in him was dead, and he pledged himself fully to the dark side. He was free. For the first time in his life he had no master, victory had broken his chains. In reality however, he had set on a path that very few could return willingly from, as he was now a slave to the dark side, his passion completing his fall. So he left. He intented to put his freedom to good use.
Child of War
Nothing was the same as before, now he was old enough to take care of himself and he had newfound confidence in his abilities. As a teenager Galadin spent many years travelling. He had no home, no family and no master. He had to discover his calling and in-process increase his power, his command of the Force had to be expanded so his training could be complete. He took his talents to the crime lords, finding work as a bounty hunter. He met some success but soon discovered that this was not his ideal job. Killing helpless weaklings did not excite him. He preferred the thrill of the fight. He would prefer that his prey fought back. Short on credits, he had little choice however, and soon he found himself fighting in illegal pits. This was an ugly thing to do to say the least. He fought and killed creatures from all walks of life. Bounty hunters, captured beasts, war prisoners, assassins and rogue force users such as himself. All desperate beings, murderer and ruffians who took pleasure in killing. Countless times he flirted with death, bathing in the blood of his enemies and of his own. Cutting, hacking beheading, slicing and carving. All sorts of killing. He had become an artist. He was addicted to the adrenaline, rush of excitement and that thirst for blood, became the things he lived for. Life of a fighter, a gladiator and a butcher.
He spent some years as a pit fighter. But then came a time when the gushing of blood and the screams of the crowd could not satisfy him. Force called on to him, he started to realize he would never attain true power by simple killing. He had already proven his mettle and it was the day to move on. He worked as a mercenary. Luckly for him, there was no shortage of wars on a galactic scale which meant that there was plenty of work opportunities. He fought in numerous battles and skirmishes. But he was once again on the run when his company was disbanded due to a number of reasons. Supply shortage, high casulties and spreading diseases brought the war to an end for him.
By now his teenager years were behind him and Galadin was almost a young adult. He matured mentally. His thirst for blood satiated, he desired power and knowledge of the Force. He drifted across the galaxy, discovering worlds that had a strong presence within the Force and he made a habit of travelling to the locations, seeking out artifacts and study opportunities. As he descended deeper into the teachings of the dark side, his hold tightened and his understanding of the Force widened. He started practicing more and more advanced techniques.
Galadin began to dwell on Sith teachings on a regular basis and he agreed with the philosophy of their theories but desiring to operate freely, he chose to remain independent. He combined his elite dueling skills with a strong command of the Dark Side, given that he was still youthful and energetic, he had already turned himself into a powerhouse. An epicentre of the Dark Side, His presence was raw dread. Having worked his way into becoming a powerful Dark Jedi now he entertains far more dangerous thoughts, dreams of conquest and domination. Once the time is right and his foul designs can be built upon strong foundations, Galadin will be ready to unleash his full vengeance on the galaxy for all the wrongs it has done him. And if that comes to pass countless souls will taste the wrath of a malevolent butcher.
