Seeing a need for an updated Ion weapon system the MCS began the development of the Galeus-class Ion Cannon. Much of the same internal components of the Galeus are identical to the many of the other new line weapon systems. depending on age-old weapon designs the newly created Galeus-class Ion Cannon is nothing more than an updated system with redundant power regulation and supply. with the added redundancies the weapon gains an increased rate of fire over standard and previous generation Ion Cannons.
