- Kinetic Biotech: Nenuphar is a living organism prized for its ability to rapidly self-repair and for its flexibility. It can repair minor damage within thirty minutes, while more extensive damage may take hours or days to repair - but unless it is completely destroyed, deprived of fuel, or otherwise compromised, it can bounce back no matter how serious the damage is. When used as a building material for vehicles, the rate of injury or death in a collision is lowered substantially. (Note: This does not apply to the laminanium-matrix plated exterior of the tank.)
- Neural Interface: Though it can usually only be used by Shi'ido or by specially trained telepaths, the tank features a unique neural interface which can be used to directly operate the vehicle. This greatly improves reaction times.
- Ultrachrome Blades: The tank features front rotating blades made out of ultrachrome, which is resistant to both blaster fire and lightsaber blows. The rotating blades can be used to cut through the jungle foliage... and any people that get in the tank's way. The resulting shredded waste is emptied out the back of the vehicle, leaving an earthy (or bloody...) trail wherever the tank goes.
- It's a Tank: Designed to rip and tear through enemies while protecting personnel, this tank is difficult to penetrate and heavily armed.
- Bull in a China Shop: This tank has difficulty maneuvering and is about average in the speed department for a tank of its size - which is to say it's pretty slow.
- Overdrawn: While the laminanium plating can repair itself, the hull of the tank is not impenetrable. Enough sustained hits in a short amount of time, and it will breach.
- Jammed!: It is possible to jam the front blades, stopping their rotation, though it will require a pretty big blockage.
- Special Fuel: Nenuphar sections must be maintained with a special "fuel", which is basically a type of synthetic fertilizer, as well as provided with water on a regular basis in order to function optimally.
- Drying: Anything which removes moisture, such as being left in the desert on a hot day, exposure to extreme cold, or "vacuum drying", can seriously weaken the structural integrity of nenuphar, the material this tank is mainly made of.
- Winter's Bane: Exposure to extreme cold can cause nenuphar to go dormant, hardening and no longer responding to stimuli. Freezing it solid will cause it to become brittle and shatter easily.
Named after a type of ancient Shi'ido weaponry, galidran tanks are distinguished by their height and their unique design, combining Shi'ido biotech with resilient metal alloys to create a weirdly beautiful weapon of war.
Somewhat similar to Vong biotechnology, nenuphar is by nature a living organism, though non-sentient and easy to influence. A typical tank is operated by the driver placing their hands (or similar limbs) in a transparent neural interface gel, which tracks the electrical impulses in the hands as they move, thus manipulating the vessel. Other versions may be more complex, requiring the driver to be partially or fully immersed in the gel. Other crew members are required in order to fire the guns and operate the blades.
