Behavioural Assessment:
Garen is known as an extremely effective, if extremely hard commander within the Sith Armada. He is well known for getting results, and for having some of the most efficient crews within the entire armada; this is because he is highly motivated, highly devoted, and completely ruthless in executing his orders or in disciplining his crew. Unlike some, he does not pretend to be a father to his men—he expects them to act their best and operate at 100% at all times, the same as he expects of himself, and anybody who cannot do so will either be reassigned or find their term of service entirely terminated.
His ruthlessness and blatant fanaticism as a member of the Sith Armada extend beyond his command and on into his execution of the orders he receives from higher up—as the Emperor commands, so shall it be done. He is not known for accepting surrender from enemy forces unless expressly commanded to do so, and he has no qualms about committing atrocities in the name of the Empire and the Emperor; prior to his promotion to Rear Admiral and assignment on the Tempestus, Garen was one of the first to unleash an orbital bombardment on Gravlex Med.
However, this has its downsides; his extremely hierarchical nature makes him very prone to ignoring concerns that are raised by the lower members of his ship, making him somewhat disconnected from them. As well, his fanaticism means that, if he is given the order to sacrifice himself and his crew for the good of the Empire, he will not question it; he will execute it promptly, efficiently, and fully.
Operational Record:
Garen Kalkat, prior to serving in the Sith Armada, was born on Panatha into a cadet branch of the overarching Zambrano family. While he was set to inherit the title of head of the branch, he considered it to be beneath him, abdicating his inheritance to a younger sibling and instead choosing to serve in a military role, honouring his duties to both his Lord and his kin. Unlike some others, he never went through a period of time as a simple enlisted member of the navy, and instead went directly through the finest naval academy on Panatha, graduating with flying colours. He served for a time in the defense fleet of Panatha before eventually the current Sith Empire was formed, and he left to join the Sith Armada.
Since then, his life has been best described as engagement after engagement until quite recently. One notable instance in his career was the Subjugation of Gravlex Med, where then-Commodore Garen Kalkat led his squadron in razing a significant portion of the surface of the planet under the Sith Emperor's orders, sooner than some others—and with far less questions asked when he complied. Eventually, due to his compliance and high devotion, he was promoted to the rank of Rear Admiral, placed in command of the Tempestus and the defense fleet over Dantooine, protecting one of the most important agriworlds within the Sith Empire.
