- (+) Possesses great strength: Due to his Epicanthix heritage, Gareth possesses a fair amount of strength and can sometimes be physically imposing. This proves useful during lightsaber combat since he can use his superior strength to overpower his opponent.
- (+) Courageous: Gareth has proven time and time again that he's strong-willed and isn't afraid to stand up for what he believes in, regardless of what it is. He's stood defiantly against Sith despite numerous near death experiences and will always continue to do so.
- (+) Kindhearted and Compassionate: It goes without saying that Gareth's as kind, caring, and understanding as they come. He's always willing to help others just as much as he's willing to learn.
- (-) Fortified Mind: Much like his half-sister, Gareth's mind affords him the ability to ward off the negative effects of minds tricks and such, but it also serves to hamper him as well. This prevents him from receiving boons from Battle Meditation from his peers and the like, or any other boon technique related to the mind.
- (-) Overprotective: Gareth can sometimes be a bit overprotective when it comes to things, especially anyone close to him. This can stun the person's growth and shows he's not trustful in the person's capabilities.

Biography:
Gareth was born on Coruscant to a Kiffar female and an Epicanthix male, Kyra Yalthik and Khahur Seren. His mother worked various jobs in the underbelly of Coruscant before her last place of work was struck by a hail of blaster fire due to a gang rivalry. It was chaos. Bodies were strewn about on the floor, the stench of blood riddled the air, and the place was in disarray. Kyra was lucky not to get hit by a single bolt! Instead she was covered in the blood of an unfortunate Zabrak client. She laid on the ground in absolute horror as her client laid on top of her while streams of steam exited his corpse. The then new crime lord walked through the building scouring it for any remaining life to exterminate when he happened upon Gareth's mother. He then raised his rifle just about to extinguish her life when a thought occurred in his head. She was pretty enough and attractive, so why not recruit her into his business as prostitute? He could never have enough of them.
So there Kyra was praying that her life wouldn't end there when the crime lord opened his mouth. He told her that he would spare her life under the condition that she work for him. Hoping that the work wasn't detestable and in fear for her life she agreed. But boy was she wrong... she would've been better off dead. She was put out on the streets to sell herself and when she didn't get any clients some nights she was beaten. This carried on for many years until she came upon a client, Khahur Seren. Khahur was a notorious smuggler known throughout the galaxy. He thought he could escape and live in seclusion on Panatha with his wife Isaya Vaux, but alas his work caught right back up to him. He was forced to get back into the business and abandon his family. He couldn't risk exposing them to this disgusting life and the multiple years worth of charges he racked up. It was better that he left.
Fast forward a couple years and he was back in the business. Having just had a nasty encounter on Nar Shaddaa with a former client that nearly resulted in his death he escaped to Coruscant. He spent the next several months living in the underworld when he met Kyra Yalthik. She was a quiet woman and kept to herself. He could tell she didn't belong here. So after a few months visiting her he offered to buy her off the crime lord. He would use his fame and connections to acquire her. However, the crime lord wasn't swayed easily. He wanted something more out of it than money. He wanted his services, so he requested that he take a few of his supplies to the planet of Nal Hutta in exchange for her. This proved to be a perilous journey and his last one. He disappeared from the star system forever.
A month later Kyra would give birth to Gareth Yalthik. Upon birth, she was determined not to have her son exposed to this life, so Kyra did the only thing she knew. She left him with another family, but not before marking him with Qukuuf, so he wouldn't forget where he came from. The family, desperate for a child, took him in as their own. They raised him to the age of six when he was discovered by a Jedi Knight. The Jedi Knight sensed the strong affinity the boy had for the Force and took him in after arresting a fleeing bounty hunter. From there, the two of them traveled back to the Jedi Temple on Ossus. He had only heard stories and tales of the Jedi. He never imagined it to be like this!
He was fascinated by the Jedi and their teachings, particularly medicine and healing. From a young age and even before joining the Jedi Order he always had a fascination and drive to help people. Whether it be bringing his adopted mother something when she was sick or his father when he was injured, he just wanted to help people. So he sought apprenticeship under Trinity Dependus, who was Chief Healer at the time. She was a caring, compassionate, and strong Jedi. A person he aspired to become. Unfortunately, they didn't spend as much time together as the young Padawan hoped. She died a few weeks into his training, leaving him without a Master. He mourned her death as he was looking forward to her teachings. Many Masters came and went offering their services, but Gareth refused each one as he wanted to take some time to accept the death of his Master. This was the perfect time for him to grasp what the tenet, "There is no death, only the Force," meant.
So he stayed without a Master until he met Asha Seren. The two of them clicked instantly, unbeknownst to them that they were related. Perhaps that's why the connected so much. They were like peanut butter and jelly. They spent so much time together that the Jedi High Council convinced Asha Seren to take him on, who was hesitant due to being a newly crowned Jedi Knight. Asha Seren then proceeded to teach him all she could. Gareth proved adaptable and ever changing to the ways of her teaching and the Jedi Order. They went on many missions together. That was... until his "death."
During a mission, Asha and Gareth were tasked to infiltrate a crime syndicate on Nar Shaddaa. It had gained notoriety and influence throughout the galaxy. This forced the Jedi to intervene, so they tasked their best Jedi to infiltrate and hopefully bring down the syndicate before it gained too much footing. This mission proved disastrous as their cover was blown and they had to flee. During their mid escape, they were shot down from the air and crashed landed in an open area behind a marketplace. It resulted in Gareth fractured several of his bones, cracking his skull, and nearly severing his arm. All of which proved near fatal. Asha managed to get out with a few scratches, but nothing that proved a hindrance. She watched as her Padawan laid dying in her arms. She cried over him knowing their wasn't anything she could do. She couldn't move him because it would only hasten his death and was determined to die there, but Gareth insisted on his Master to leave him be, reminding her of the Jedi Tenets and disciplines.
"A-a... J-jedi life never ends. T-their corporeal body may perish, but they go on existing through the Force like all sentient beings..."
Asha was surprised by his wisdom, even during near death. This caused her to stop crying and get up to flee as a horde of fighters arrived. She would go on to remember this as it would serve as a catalyst to make her staunch in her beliefs. When the fighters inspected the ship Asha was gone and on another ship out of the planet's atmosphere. They saw the boy laying there half dead. What were they going to do with him? They weren't sure. Half of them figured they might as well leave him to die. They could scour the ship, and then burn it. Who could care? They talked amongst themselves till a hooded figure stepped between them. His eyes were as yellow as they came. He ordered for the men to bring the boy. He had plans for him. So they carefully attracted him from the seat, and brought him along.
After that it was pure darkness. Gareth didn't remember anything. He wondered if he had died. I mean, it felt like it. That was until waves of excruciating pain coursed through his body. He let out screams of pain as the medical droids within the Sith Empire stitched him back together. Then it went dark again. The next place he remember waking up on was a cold bed. Everything was patched up. He luckily didn't have to get any amputations. But he did have a nasty stitch on his shoulder. "You're lucky to have survived," said a voice. It was dark within the room. He couldn't see anything. "Where am I?" he asked haggardly.
"Dromund Kaas," replied the voice. Gareth held his head. He was in the Sith Empire? How did he get here? The Sith then proceeded to explain what happen and what little options he had. His Master had long believed he was dead and according to the Jedi Order they believed he was too. So unless he converted he had little choice lest he wanted to end up death. So without much of an option Gareth agreed and studied under the Sith Knight, but not for long. During an outing between him and the Sith Knight they were confronted. The Sith Knight wanted him to prove his loyal before having him embrace the Dark side. However, he wouldn't get the chance as just as Gareth was about to kill his first person they were apprehended by the Jedi.
The Jedi Knight who apprehended them could sense the light-side of the Force within the boy, so he sought to take him under his wing. He revealed his name to be Dar Covell. He was versed in the ways of a Consular and continued Gareth's training at the Dantooine Enclave after informing the High Council of the ordeal. Gareth soon reached the rank of Jedi Knight after that. He became a Jedi Healer and Force Warrior. Using the teachings of Dar, Asha, and Trinity Gareth sought to make the universe a better place. He fought against the Sith many times and ended up in the Medical Bay just as many times, to the point where it became a joke to him. It was like his second home.
During that period, he was assigned on a mission to Ord Mantel. He stood alongside Jedi Knight Eva Shallaut, Pyrex Shadao, and another as they stood on Ferenc and Aria Xius. At the time he didn't know the Force would join them together, but it did. Who would've thought? Gareth along with the other Jedi engaged Ferenc, but he escaped leaving them alone with Aria. She proved to be very mouthy and defiant; however, Gareth ignored all of that and arrested her. He then brought her into the Jedi Temple to be questioned. He could tell she was scared, but Gareth urged her that he was only trying to help and that he would never do such thing. She still remained scared however, even during the interrogation.
It wasn't till she approached the Jedi Order a few weeks later that it seemed to have worked. The two worked together closely as she trained to become a Jedi Knight. Eventually, she admitted her fondness of him. Gareth was a bit dumbfounded. Of all the things it was that? He was reluctant at first. He had explored love before, but each time it proved disastrous. It wasn't till they continued to spend more time together that Gareth's fondness grew even more and he finally admitted it. He loved her.
The two started seeing each other and eventually became engaged. Since then Gareth has continued to serve the Jedi Order and has even turned a new leaf. Due to his desire of wanting to help out on the front lines instead of taking a back seat like he had always done, Gareth has desired to become a Jedi Guardian and hopes he can serve them just as well as he did behind the lines.
