Name: Garric Wrennar
Age: 73
Species: Human
Force Sensitive: Yes
Alignment: Light
Rank: Jedi Master
Appearance:
Garric is a man above average height for his age, standing at 5'11. He has short white hair with black roots and a small white goatee. He has blue eyes. He tends to wear a standard brown haori, a white shirt underneath it, matching slender pants, and black combat boots. When he needs to be more formal, he wears more traditional Jedi robes. He also wears a small belt that holds a scabbard. Finally, he has a distinct set of stitching on his forehead, the details of which he has never actually explained.
Weapons:
He wield a yellow bladed lightsaber. The hilt of the saber resembles that of a standard vibroblade with a golden tsuba and wrapped in a blue tsuka ito. He stores the hilt in the scabbard on his waist of which the inside is lined with small amounts of cortosis to prevent his blade from cutting through it. He is skilled in Forms II, III, and V Shein. Form II is his most preferred form.
Personality:
Garric is compassionate and empathetic Jedi, driven by a deep belief in fighting for the people and bonds he cherishes. Though kind and approachable, he possesses an unyielding resolve and can be brutally decisive when protecting those he cares about. He values connection over dogma, seeing the people he protects as the heart of his purpose. A pragmatist, Garric understands that morality can sometimes be complex and is willing to make difficult choices if necessary, though he remains deeply self-aware and disciplined to avoid crossing lines recklessly. His wisdom is tempered by humility, shaped by a life of isolation, belonging, and hard-earned lessons in loyalty. Garric balances his fierce protectiveness with calm strategic thinking, making him both a compassionate mentor and a formidable warrior. His philosophy, rooted in his personal experiences, challenges others to focus on what truly matters in their fight for justice.
He believes that one should fight to protect others, that everyone should have someone or something they want to protect as their reason to fight. He fundamentally can't understand people fighting purely for self-interest. Furthermore, he feels he can understand that the weak can become desperate in situations which leads to his confusion as to why those he feels are strong seek out 'pointless battles'. He believes that living selfishly can only take someone so far.
However, he makes it clear that he is not above making morally questionable decisions. He would want to exhaust every alternative he can, but makes it clear that should it come down to it, he is willing to reject morals for the sake of victory. Still, he retains his belief because he only does this because he wishes to protect that which he cares about.
Force Abilities:
- Empathic Resonance
- Garric has an unparalleled ability to sense the emotions, intentions, and even memories of others through the Force. This makes him an exceptional negotiator and mediator, able to understand and diffuse conflicts before they escalate. In combat, it occasionally allows him to anticipate an opponent's actions by feeling their intent, but this really only works if he has a moment to do so.
- Force Augmentation
- Garric enhances his physical abilities to extraordinary levels during combat, including speed, strength, and endurance. His movements are deliberate and efficient, reflecting his strategic mindset.
- Battle Meditation (Minor)
- While not his primary strength, Garric can subtly inspire and focus allies through the Force, helping them stay calm and coordinated under pressure. His ability works on a small scale, ideal for tight-knit groups.
- Force Judgement (Light-Side Lightning)
- In extreme circumstances, Garric can channel the Force into a controlled blast of energy similar to Sith lightning but golden in colour and infused with Light Side energy. He uses this ability sparingly, as it aligns with his philosophy of protecting others only when all other options are exhausted.
- Telekinesis
- Garric's telekinetic abilities are precise and versatile. He can lift and manipulate objects with great control, often using it to disarm enemies or shield allies. He prefers finesse over raw power, reflecting his tactical nature.
- Mind Shielding
- Garric's disciplined mind is exceptionally resistant to mental manipulation, making him highly resilient against Sith mind tricks and Force-based illusions.
- Healing
- Tutaminis
Strengths:
- Compassionate Leadership
- Garric's deep empathy allows him to connect with others on a personal level, inspiring loyalty and trust. His leadership style emphasizes understanding and cooperation, making him a unifying figure among allies.
- Strategic Thinker
- In battle, Garric is calm and calculated, capable of analyzing situations and outmaneuvering opponents. His ability to separate emotion from strategy ensures he remains effective, even under immense pressure.
- Master Healer
- Garric's advanced healing abilities make him invaluable in both combat and peacetime, capable of saving lives and aiding recovery from physical wounds.
- Emotional Insight
- His empathic Force abilities allow him to sense emotions and intentions, giving him an edge in negotiations and combat. This also helps him defuse conflicts and guide others through personal struggles.
- Flexible Combatant
- A master of Form II, and user of Form III and Form V (Shein), Garric's fighting style is adaptable, blending strength and precision. He uses the Force tactically, combining offense and defence seamlessly.
- Moral Pragmatism
- While devoted to the Light Side, Garric is willing to make morally difficult decisions if necessary. This practicality makes him an effective problem-solver in complex situations.
- Emotional Vulnerability
- Garric's compassion, while a strength, also makes him vulnerable. If someone he deeply cares about is harmed, he can become intensely focused on protecting or avenging them, potentially blinding him to larger risks.
- Burden of Responsibility
- Garric places immense pressure on himself to protect those around him. This can lead to self-doubt and guilt if he feels he has failed, even in circumstances beyond his control.
- Limited Aggression
- Garric's preference for defence and protection can put him at a disadvantage against highly aggressive or unpredictable foes who exploit his reluctance to go on the offensive.
- Morally Grey Reputation
- Garric's willingness to make difficult choices and his pragmatic view of morality can cause tension with more dogmatic Jedi or allies, who may question his commitment to traditional ideals.
- Reluctance to Seek Help
- Despite his focus on helping others, Garric struggles to ask for assistance or share his own burdens, often internalizing his struggles until they weigh heavily on him.
Background:
Garric was born on the Outer Rim planet known as Nadien during the days of the Old Republic. He grew up in a small village where he was a rather timid, but kind boy. He was recruited to the Jedi Order later than most, but was accepted nonetheless. Being older than his peers made Garric feel out of place. He struggled with the Order's strict detachment teachings, as he deeply missed his family and home. However, his resilience and determination to prove himself earned him the mentorship of a compassionate Jedi Master who saw his potential not just as a warrior but as a protector and healer.
Throughout his training, Garric displayed himself as a Jedi who preferred to use violence only if the opportunity for diplomacy was slim. Still, he displayed himself a compassionate and merciful combatant, never causing unnecessary harm or killing if possible. However, during one mission with a fellow padawan after they were separated from their masters, they encountered a Sith who gravely injured Garric's friend. This sent him into a flurry where he held out against the Sith long enough for their masters to find them.
During his days, he became a competent strategist and powerful Jedi in general. He was skilled with a blade, strong in the force, but he didn't fully embody the code. However, he eventually became a Jedi Master, training two apprentices of his own that became great Jedi.
During a mission, he and a group of Jedi had to infiltrate a Sith station. While the mission was successful, Garric was frozen in carbonite, where another of the Jedi was meant to unfreeze him, but was killed. He was trapped in the carbonite for millennia, until he was eventually freed by passing Jawas on the planet he was on. After coming to terms with his situation, he decided to return to the Jedi Order.
