Private Gas And A Catch

GAS AND A CATCH

It was on a small orbiting station off of Bespin that Q'ara Cole would find herself. Her ship, a Corellian Space Cruiser named The Initiative, needed fuel sometime soon. Best to top it off now. Q'ara was in no way short of coin. She worked for the Hutts. They always had jobs for her. Especially when it came to collecting on bounties. Why were people so foolish as to take from the Hutts to begin with? Oh well. It all added up to her getting paid.

Docking the Initiative at the port, the Togruta bounty hunter turned off all the engines. After scooting back her chair to get out of the cockpit, she would head out to the lift and lower the ramp to the outside. She was wearing simple Jedi robes though she were no Jedi. More to the point, she didn't even grab her lightsabers. So in reality she would just look like another weary traveler.

Q'ara would learn today to always have at least one weapon on her at all times. But she didn't expect to run into trouble. She had the Force as her ally, but a good blaster helped too -also forgotten in the cruiser. The woman didn't expect to spend but a few minutes of the Bespin outpost as she ran inside to pay for her fuel. A little robot droid would already be making its way up to her as she did.

"Fill her up," she told the robot. It would nod and repeat something in Binary which the Torgruta did not speak. She understood it well enough through the Force as well as context clues. That was how her life was ran. Observation and being clever. If only she added foresight to that list.

Jaster's delight needed fuel. And Lori needed to stretch her legs. She had no place to call home but her ships. After the attack at the theme park she had built on Mnemosyne, it was clear that anything on a world that was deemed hers would be destroyed. At least at this point in time. The future could be vastly different.

Fueling up gave her the opportunity to do that. And outside of EE space was much safer to do so. Even so, Lori still had to be cautious. She wore a hooded cloak over her Rebel Ops armour, armed with her blasters on her hips and daggers in her boots. Her co-pilot Arla wouldn't have it any other way. "I'll be back soon, Arla. Need some snacks."

"Be quick. If you're not back in twenty,..."

"Yeah, I know, I know..." Lori pivoted on her heel to give Arla a wave. When she turned to face forward again, she bumped into Q'ara "Kiki" Cole Q'ara "Kiki" Cole . "Whoops! Sorry!" She offered her an apologetic smile and then continued on her way. Lori was hungry and any space station near Bespin was sure to have some amazing food.

Despite her Jedi instincts and her montrals which helped her navigate her surroundings, Q'ara still managed to get bumped into by some stranger. The woman apologized quickly but kept on walking. Q'ara was about to say something but the woman was already making her way inside.

"Well that was rude," she said softly to herself.

With a disappointed shake of her head she would follow after her and continue on inside. The inside of the compound was like any other spaceport terminal. High ceilings, tall pillars holding it up, marble floors, duraglass windows. It was late at night so it wasn't too busy inside. Various species of alien occupied the hallway, as well as a few droids here and there. Q'ara paid them no mind as she strolled across the hall and over to a terminal directly across from the doors. Here she would pay her credits to a machine. So civilized. Minimal contact. This is how the world worked.

When Lori was hungry, her mind could only focus on one thing. Food. Sometimes that put blinders on her, which was why she had bumped into Q'ara "Kiki" Cole Q'ara "Kiki" Cole earlier. But it wasn't as though she had knocked her to the ground or anything. Otherwise Lori would have stopped to help her up.

She went right over to one of the vending machines. This was one of the special ones that had a variety of prepared meals and sandwiches inside instead of just snacks. She scoured through the various options, and selected a couple of bantha meat sandwiches, and a container of hot bantha and veggie stew. The credits were dug out of her pocket and slipped into the slot. Already her mouth was watering as the windows unlocked and she was able to grab the contents from inside.

Lori walked over towards Q'ara with her food and held out one of the sandwiches. It wasn't as though she wasn't easy to spot. "Here. It's not much, but most people travelling through these stations tend to stop to eat. Consider it the other half of my apology."
