Gathering the Crew

In setting up a new front for some upcoming taskings Arisa required the employment of agents to pad out her team of operatives. Ideally, a combination of competent crewmen to legitimize her operations, and a few characters with underworld connections to help her get her foot through the door. Taking a direct approach to acquiring the latter type would likely arouse suspicions, so she would have to gradually work toward those contacts by the exploiting shadier elements she discovered through legal channels.

Within no time, she already had some applicants lined up after checking out some of the contracting boards on the holonet. In this day and age, there was no shortage of experienced pilots and techies. One was to meet her on Yutan that day for an informal interview. At this point, the Corellian pretty much had the job, Arisa just needed to check to check out the woman in person to make sure they meshed well. The job called for extended tours in some dangerous corners of the galaxy, where they may be the only face she saw for weeks on end. It would make the time go a lot easier if it was a friendly one that she never developed an urge to drop-kick.

On the day of their meeting, Arisa waited on Locke's arrival right in the terminal of the sole major space-port of Yutan. She sat alone in a small port cafe, occupied with her normal activity of messing around on her datapad. On the small round table sat a cup of cooling latte, now almost forgotten as she had been turned off by the burnt taste of the overpriced coffee. When Locke finally touched down planetside, Arisa had instructed her to make a call and meet her at the cafe. Before her unfortunate experience with her latte, she had planned on taking lunch there, but a change of venue was an order.

Job boards were usually the best place to find jobs when one was running low on them. Allyson was able to keep the board updated on her data pad and while she relaxed with Kaili Talith on Yavin she got a notice about a job that fit her usual standards. Glancing through it, she realized it was going to be slightly longer than most, but the pay seemed decent enough. Musing about it, she quickly put her application in and with the acceptance she gathered her things and prepared to head out. Going through the loops and the gestures to head to the meeting place, Allyson gathered what she needed and docked her ship into the public hanger.

Yawning, she stepped off and paid for the refueling charges. It was nice that Rekali reimbursed for fuel charges even on the pilot’s personal ships. Guess it was a good thing the head honcho was Allyson’s adoptive Father and the head honcho’s grand daughter - well she was a totally different story. Slipping on a pair of headphones over her ears she put on one of the newer tracks of her favorite Atrisian artist. The bass beat through the headphones as the rather fresh Corellian hopped onto her hoverboy and zipped out of the hanger. Simple spacer clothes adorned her frame, the Corellian bloodstripes she had earned while helping with the disaster, a loose fitted white v-neck with a leather jacket hanging off her slender shoulders.

The girl continued to weave in and out of people and speeders until she arrived at the small cafe where she was to meet up with the woman who had hired her. Sliding the headphones off her ears, she let them hang around her neck, next she removed the pair of goggles from her eyes and placed them at her hairline on her forehead. Allyson Locke stepped off the board and it found its way into her palm as she rested against the length. Glancing in and out of the cafe she soon spotted her associate. Heading over, she stood by the table and grinned. It was her lucky day, she wasn’t stuck with some old woman, or stiff old lady Jedi for this job.
