Description: The Gatling rapid-fire turbolaser drew its inspiration from the KDD2055 short-range turbolaser, with modern-day turbolaser technology; with modern technology, one can now mount such rapid-fire implements in shipboard use, firing four times as fast as standard turbolaser. But such power comes at rather steep costs: it drains as much power as 4 standard turbolasers (it effectively fires four bolts with the same power as one standard turbolaser) and, while allowing faster rates, also comes with another shortcoming: because the plasma spends less time inside the barrel, the resulting plasma bolts are more unstable, causing the bolts to lose focus if fired from further than half a standard turbolaser range. Targeting solutions are similar to those use on standard turbolasers, making the transition from older turbolaser units to this one seamless for the gunners.
