- Breastplate, bracers, and shin guards made of lightweight plasteel to enhance defense against small arms fire and small bladed weapons.
- Breastplate, bracers, and shin guards are fashioned out of a lightweight piece of plasteel, and as such, offers Gatz some basic protection from small arms fire, small bladed weapons, and light physical attacks.
- The robes are thick enough to provide protection from the elements, especially frigid temperatures and snow storms.
- While the breastplate, braces, and shin guards over the robes are made of plasteel, the rest of the attire is made of simple cloth. It is not impervious or resistant to any kind of damage.
- The breastplate itself is fashioned out of a lightweight piece of plasteel, and quickly fails under repeated strikes.
- The breastplate is more rigid than cloth, and does restrict bending at the abdomen, limiting Gatz's flexibility and hindering his use of more acrobatic forms such as Ataru.
After many, many injuries sustained in the field, Gatz Derrevar believed it prudent to obtain and don attire that would both serve as better protection from the dangers he often finds himself surrounded by, as well as slightly conform better to the traditional attire worn by the Jedi Order—while still deviating enough from classical Jedi fashion to be considered "rebellious."
