STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES (Required: 2 Weaknesses Minimum):
Many strengths are a flaw – especially if overplayed. And a lot can depend on your point of view – what is a positive attribute to one, is seen as a negative to another.

“You see things with hope in your eyes. You believe that, given a true choice, people with choose the light. That is your flaw and your strength.”
– T’ra Saa

The first of Geel’s key attributes is his undying hope. It is an eternally optimistic trait, one that endures him through dark times – and allows him to give comfort and optimism to others. Yet, by the same token, it is a facet of his character that can be exploited – he wants to believe the best in humanity.

Geel is also something of a loner. That has him labelled arrogant by some – seeing his detachment as a sign that he thought he was above others. And, like most perceptions, the truth is irrelevant – what is believed is by definition correct.

In reality, he is simply cautious – slow to trust, which is in many ways at odds with the aspect of hope. But whereas he is forever positive about civilisation and mankind – he is entirely cautious when it comes to individuals. Does he have an issue with coming across as remote? Intense? In truth, no – because it gives him an excuse for keeping his guard up.

Many would cite Geel’s courage as a huge positive – which in many ways it is. Except he would think nothing of risking his life against the odds – to a point where his courage may have tipped over into pride and then arrogance. On the plus side, he is aware of this problem, and looks to keep it in check.

APPEARANCE:
Geel is an unassuming young man – whose one stand-out feature are his eyes, which are a particular shade of yellow. He is quite tall – but not overly so, and he is muscular without being musclebound.

Clothing-wise, he is always immaculately dressed but has recently eschewed the traditional Jedi robes of his youth in favour of light armour – strong enough to offer protection whilst supple enough to allow freedom of movement.

BIOGRAPHY:
Geel was originally from the planet Ralltiir. Six months after his birth, Geel’s family had left their homeworld in order to search the stars for a new home. While traveling, the family’s transport was attacked and boarded by a band of pirates. With both his parents dead, the infant was given to his grandparents to raise. But they were keen to offload a burden the death of his parents had created. In their eyes, their daughter had married beneath her and the child was only a reminder of her folly – and by extension, their shame. Fortunately for them, a midi-chlorian test proved he was Force sensitive and he was swiftly sent to the Jedi.

He was a gifted student and a career as a Jedi Guardian of the Republic beckoned, Geel was considered to be one of the best swordsmen of his generation and even as a Padawan, he would distinguish himself across many battlefronts.

Having chosen the path of the Jedi Guardian, his training was mostly focused on mastering lightsaber combat, becoming a skilled warrior for his years. He learned all seven forms of lightsaber combat – even Vaapad. In addition to his duelling exploits, Geel was unusually but naturally inclined towards Battlemind – which was useful given his fighting style yet modest frame. He was also empathic and his mental conditioning gave him virtual immunity to torture and Force suggestion, as well as the heightened ability to sense the thoughts and feelings of others, even Jedi Masters.

What set him apart was his enthusiasm for battle – bordering on enjoyment. Which is why his teachers frowned on his interest in the seventh Form – which was one of the reasons he fell out of love with the Jedi Order.

Ultimately, Geel’s true motivation for all he did was a departure from traditional Jedi philosophy, as his personal belief system was an extremist viewpoint of his definition of peace at all costs. And for Geel, he really did believe that the end justified the means.

In his mind, peace was a product of civilization, and this gave him with a willingness to do anything that was required to preserve life, even if it meant violating Jedi philosophy.

He was known for his resistance to the lures of the dark side – yet conventional wisdom suggested he would succumb to its lure, given his ability to channel his inner darkness into his attacks to help him serve the light side of the Force. This allowed him to avoid succumbing to his aggression.

In addition to the other dangerous ability of Battlemind, Geel was known to use the Force to enhance the capabilities of his body and was adept at using a range of telekinetic powers.
