- Blade and top third of spear handle extend and retract using a single button into a single rod one third the length of the entire spear. This protects the blade and can be used as a Blunt weapon (no electical discharge)
- Electrical discharges effect similar to an electro-staff on contact. More efficient than traditional electrostaff as it doesn't constantly have the crackling energy field but the blade is highly electrified.
- Electrical discharge - very effective against machines and other powered units. And it can stun organics with its touch, as well as being a sharp blade.
- Tough materials - Made from Phrik it is very resistant and can be used to block lightsabers
- Reach - as a spear, it has a reach advantage over shorter melee weapons.
- Poor cutting power - primarily for thrusting and without the popular plasma or monomolecular edges this weapon cuts only as well as a mundane phrik spear should.
- Power usage - to get the most out of the weapon it must be powered on. If disabled it becomes simply a good quality spear. The power signature also interferes with stealth as its energy can be detected on scanners when active.
- Reach weapon - if you can get in closer the weapon becomes much less effective as the dangerous part is at one end.
Whilst running diagnostics, Akemi Io found the plans for this old weapon and believed that it would complement her own physical abilities. She downloaded the schematics and used a molecular furnace to create the weapon out of a specific Phrik alloy that had standard Phrik hardness and sharpness but coloured red to match her aesthetics. It could easily have been plain Phrik but Nuetralizers are a quirky bunch.
The weapon is a high performance sword spear with Electrical properties very similar to electrostaffs, but with a greater efficiency so power is not wasted with crackling and glowing. In the right hands it is incredibly dangerous and can be used effectively against organics or machines alike.
