- BIOGRAPHY/HISTORY -
Early Years: Though the records show his birth on the homeworld of his people, Geir wasn't actually born there. Instead, he was born to a governor aboard a diplomatic vessel on route to Chandrilla early in the year of 879 ABY. It was on this long excursion, though, that the infant Geir was discovered by the Jedi Order. Having sensed his strong connection to the Force, the recruiters for the Order managed to pull the child into their order, just as they had done for some many years. However, this did not end his connection with his family as since the days of the new Jedi Order, familial connections and, for lack of a better term, attachments were not so highly feared.

Jedi Youngling Geir Hammand

Much like many of the other younglings that were taken to temples spread out across the galaxy, Geir was too - his initial home of training being that of the Temple located on Corellia. He excelled beyond his peers from an early stage, quickly learning and mastering the lessons levied upon him by the Masters of the temple. Because of this it wasn't suspect that he was quickly taken under the wing of a Master when he came of age to be taken on as an Apprentice.

The First Steps With Ryn-Fei: Geir was picked up as an Apprentice learner to the Human Master Ryn-Fei on Corellia where he began to take the next steps on his path to becoming the best Jedi that he could. He spent a number of years travelling across the planets of the galaxy with Ryn-Fei, completing various assignments handed down to them by the Jedi Council, a council his Master actually served as a member of. In their travels, Geir was able to learn that each planet had its own vast trove of knowledge to be shared should one only know how and where to look for it, a lesson taught to him well by Ryn-Fei.

For a number of years Geir study under Ryn-Fei's teachings and eventually he really started to realize his potential in dueling. By the tender age of eighteen, Geir had already proven to be a more competent duelist than his Master, repeatedly besting him in a number of dueling scenarios. However, his knowledge and mastery of the Force was dwarfed by that of Ryn-Fei and thus he was not beyond the lessons his Master still had to offer him. But . . . with a handful of years more under Ryn-Fei's wing, Geir proved himself ready to face the trials of the Jedi - the trials set up to test whether or not a Jedi apprentice and padawan learner was ready to take the next step into becoming a Knight of the Jedi Order.

An Elevation to Knighthood: The Jedi Trials overall were not difficult for the young Geir, a man of twenty-three years now. The Trial of Skill was possibly the easiest trial for him to pass, his skill with a lightsaber and combat being far beyond his years. The Trial of Courage and Trial of Flesh were also easier and rather expeditious for him to complete, but the final two proved to be a bit more of a challenge for him. As the Trials of Insight and Spirit became heavily seated in a knowledge of the Force as catered to him in particular, he struggled for a bit. He eventually passed the trial of Spirit, but the Trial of Insight continued to hold him back.

Because of this, frustration actually crept up within the young Jedi and at a point the Jedi Council actually threatened to terminate the trial and push the Jedi back under Ryn-Fei's wing for further training. Playing on his strengths of combat, he'd been overly zealous time and time again in the trial to step to a fight when the objective had been something far different. What he needed was patience and once he finally gave way and tried the patient approach, he finally learned the lesson that was being pressed upon him.

Relieved he had actually passed the trials and been elevated to the rank of Jedi Knight, he could relax a little, however that relaxation would be short lived. There was still much he needed to learn and because of that, he had to press further into his training, now separate from that of his former master, Ryn-Fei.

As time passed, Geir completed mission after mission for the Order at the direction of the Jedi Council. And with each tasking, he took every opportunity to learn what he could. One such circumstance that arose, was a skirmish he was sent to aid a pair of Jedi in on the Outer Rim world of Munto Codru. The Jedi he was assisting were a Master and an Apprentice, a Togrutan and a Twi'lek, as the pushed to eliminate a remnant of the Galactic Empire that once was. It was a long and hard fought battle, but was eventually won as what remained of the forgotten Imperial forces surrendered.

Pass On What You Have Learned: There comes a time in every Jedi's life when they must begin to pass on what they have learned and for Geir this was nothing he even hoped to avoid. He wanted to pass his knowledge on to the next generation of Jedi. To build a stronger Order that could finally quell the putrid ideals that the Dark Side hoped to spread across the galaxy. The lies and the horror. The death and the murder. And thus, it was time for the now thirty-three year old Knight to take on his first apprentice and pass on what he'd learned in his years. He returned to Corellia and observed a number of young Jedi hoping they'd be the next to be selected to become an apprentice to a Master or Knight of the Order.

However a Knight or Master was only allowed to pick a single apprentice to train, though this rule was only loosely observed in the new Jedi Order. Geir enjoyed his time at the temple as he observed a number of potential apprentices, but it was a female Morellian that caught his interest for her aptitude with a blade, a same interest he shared. She stood out among her peers and seemed eager to learn more. He liked this and as such, he decided to take her under his wing. It wasn't until a few years later that he actually realized she was of his race, the increasingly rare Morellians, a species dwindling on extinction not because of famine or evolution, but because of cross breeding with other near human races. A pure blood Morellian was very rare indeed.

For much of her training, Geir took her down the path that his former Master had taken him. Travelling out among the stars and learning from what every world they visited had to offer.

For years, the training went without a hitch, possibly even being the easiest padawan to train the Order had ever known. There were no hiccups and her drive to learn everything she possibly could surpassed his own, but her ability to actually perfect everything she learned was not equal to his own. Outside of dueling with a lightsaber, she struggled. She understood the Force and knew how to use and call upon it, but she struggled to gain a mastery over it. Because of this, Geir would not feel comfortable for her to pass the Trials should the Council feel the time was now. And as such, her apprenticeship was longer than the average student.

She would however be tested soon enough and when she was, she would pass the trials, thus his first apprentice had been trained all the way into Knighthood, a accomplishment the saw the Council bestow upon him the rank of Jedi Master. He was fifty years old at this point. After another seven years, he would actually be granted a spot upon the council.

He served this post well for a number of years until something drastic happened up the world of Prakith. An event of such consequence that saw the end of the Jedi Master, Blademaster and Council member Geir Hammand.

The Legacy of Abaddon: It seemed that good things were never meant to last. The galaxy would make sure that never happened. It was an expedition on the Deep Core world of Prakith that opened his eyes to this. His light would soon be extinguished as Darkness would take hold for on this planet, Geir came into contact with an artifact long forgotten by time, but a token of an immense power that once reign heavily down upon the galaxy.

There was a mask that had been uncovered at an excavation site in the southern hemisphere of the planet in which the local populace had reached out to the Jedi in order to remove or study. To deem to be safe considering the history of the planet. For this, Geir had come and all it took was but a single touch for the Jedi Master to become possessed by the dark spirit that remained trapped within the mask. A mask whose name was immediately revealed to him up his possession. Nirwos. In the ancient High Sith dialect, the name meant Strife and so it seemed to have been the correct name. The Dark Side flowed through the Master and before anyone could be certain of what had transpired, the former Jedi lashed out and killed everyone immediately in sight.

He'd return to the council, with the new visage that he was and from there he would destroy the council, completely controlled by the spirit within the mask he now wore. With the council destroyed, he fled to the outer rim, to where this new person he had become was the most comfortable.

Realizing his newly harnessed power, the memories of a past that was and was not his own, flooded his mind. The Jedi that once was, was now gone. Erased by the immensity that was Darth Abaddon. A Sith Lord that had once reigned terror upon the galaxy many years in the past now revived once more. A zealot and a crusader for a purpose he believed himself chosen for by the galaxy and the Force and one he had every intention of fulfilling for if the galaxy was to survive, he needed to fulfill that which it tasked him to do.

Ever since he was eighty-three this spirit has possessed him for he has been Abaddon ever since.
