- Name: Gek
- Loyalties: vaya-laccuni
- Notable Possessions:
- Personality:
- Gek can be hard to convince to do things, as if he’s particularly against something it’s common for him to “play tired” and just dangle with his eyes closed over something. However usually with promise of treats or things he finds amusing to play with, which unfortunately are often weapons, puzzles, or expensive. However he is extremely hostile if threatened and if he begins to straighten his fur while crouching and glaring into a persons eyes, those who have met the creature, know that if the person does not move back he will go ballistic on them. Gek is very fond of Vaya as she helped raise him, and can be protective of her with people that are new. Or, if he hasn’t been fed or given something to do, anybody. However if Vaya is stern enough he usually obeys, if begrudgingly. Sometimes he can understand the urgency of a situation though, and will choose to help of his own volition.
- Training: Gek can understand a lot of simple commands like. Get, grab, quiet, pick up, drop, go to, come, run, hide, and the names of people or things. He also sometimes helps Vaya with other animals, depending on the animal, by hopping on them and stroking their back or ears. As momong are semi-sentient he can pick up on things fairly easily.
- Combat Function:
- Generally Gek should not be in a fight. As he is not as big and scary as some primates. However, he is quite fast and agile and does have some intelligence. Enough even to know that pointing a blaster and pulling the trigger tends to make things die. Or how to use sharp or blunt objects. In a fight with street scum, Gek can help. However in a real battle Gek should definitely remain away.
- Intelligent creature: He’s semi-sentient and able to understand many things, even if he doesn’t always care enough to do so. Able to use tools and understand a number of commands or communications.
- Agile and limber: With a prehensile tail and six dexterous hands, Gek is a pretty fast and light creature that can get places and do things rather quickly.
- Friendly (to Vaya): Gek likes Vaya as she raised him, and will usually help her out and cooperate with her.
- Fake lazy: Gek quite simply, doesn’t like doing things that he doesn’t like to do. If he doesn’t like it, he often plays being too tired to do anything. And has to be prompted in some manner.
- Particular: Gek can be very defensive of Vaya and even aggressive at people getting near her. If he’s given something to do it’s usually a good bit less so, but he doesn’t often like new people being near her.
- Not too scary: Although around the height of a toddler or so, Gek is not even remotely among any type of creature made for combat and wouldn’t serve well in a legitimate battle due to lacking particularly good natural defenses.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION
Gek was among a large list of creatures that Vaya was helping someone train while she was rather young. He was however, unlike most of the others, on his own. Apparently he’d been removed from his family as the owners only wanted the adults. Vaya managed to convince them to let her have the creature after a few months of helping them out and helping to raise it as well. Gek by that point had practically latched onto Vaya so they almost were happy to see her have him. As Gek grew up with her he became a friendly, if a bit attached, companion. And was often with her when she went places. He was also often seen messing with anything that had moving parts and rearranging them. This...was sometimes problematic. She usually tried to give him something that wouldn’t shoot someone's ear off with his fidgeting. He was also known for being very defensive, and sometimes aggressive. And having a particular method of preparation if he didn’t like someone. Staring them straight in the eyes, while straightening his fur and crouching, if he was doing that, he was bound to go ballistic on them. In spite of his small size, any angry creature that’s fast and agile with an extra few limbs that knows how to stab or pull a trigger is going to be a bit problematic when it gets on a person's face.
