The Gem of Arda is a ceremonial dagger that is created for beings who have performed special tasks in service of Arda, whether it be spreading the name of the world, protecting the world, or deeds to the galaxy while being from Arda. Harvested of rare blue-green obsidian from surface volcanoes or cooled obsidian deep below the waves, the obsidian is worked into a small blade, sharp enough to be a protective weapon, but fragile enough to not be a full-fledged weapon.
The Gem can be imbued, should the recipient prefer, by the mystics of the world, or the Witches found at Indadh’s Rest to be much stronger, however, typically the knife remains a utility, with one such spell placed on it to allow it to cut through any form of rope, line, or bondage.
