DESCRIPTION
GemDive Inc. has evolved from what was originally a singular operation known as GemDiver Station, started by Lando Calrissian, above Yavin Prime. While the largest operation remains at GemDiver Station, where valuable corusca gems are gathered from the planets atmosphere, the company has since expanded over several generations to include diamond mining on Arkania, as well as aurodium mining on Corbos. Each location has specific mining operations for its specific resource, as well as security capable of repelling small organized groups - such as pirates; however, large-scale encounters or hostile factions have been able to hinder productivity in the past, but thankfully legal precautions and safeties have been put into place at each world to ensure each station is operating within Governmental standards, with clear ownership and mining rights approved. This has saved GemDive Inc. from several attempts at hostile takeover, and the company ensures their legal documentation and fees remain up-to-date.

Due to Arkania being both in the Colonies Region, between the Core Worlds and Inner Rim, as well as having a plentiful supply of valuable diamond mines, it was chosen as the companies headquarters. The shorter distance to luxury Core Worlds, combined with a relatively short distance to the other operations, allows for efficient transportation and maximized trade for more financially backed brokers.

The focus of the company has been to establish a strong presence in valuable resource procurement, shipping and trading. In the time since being established, GemDive Inc. has - unfortunately - suffered losses, due to expansions of factions, war, piracy and other hindrances. While not unexpected, the results have meant the company hasn't become quite as large as each owner has intended, given how unstable some regions of space can be, especially those where valuable resources are located. The focus of profit versus security has become more balanced in recent years, as GemDive Inc. have reinforced their security forces charged with protecting operations, often utilizing trusted mercenary companies for random escort runs, to ensure no schedule can be observed and planned around.

Primary mining operations remains GemDiver Station, above Yavin Prime. The process is simple enough, when broken down into particulars, and involves skilled mining technicians skimming the atmosphere, in specially designed craft, to 'catch' the gems. Much like the original operation, all sorting and storage is automated, to ensure theft avoidance, and each technician is thoroughly searched before end of shift. There are also deeper atmospheric operations that take place, that afford the company considerably larger gems, but it isn't without its dangers - such as disruptive storms and potential loss of mining pod connection lines. Still, over seven hundred years, the process has become a lot more stable and secure, and the operations have benefited greatly from a consistent Sith Empire presence in the region.

On Arkania, the headquarters (located in Adascopolis) and the subsequent mining operation, operate in a similar fashion to the local mining companies. Utilizing drilling equipment, miners delve deep into catacombs beneath the surface, burrowing into large open cavities beneath the surface to discover and recover vast diamond stores underground. Due to the familiarity of operations, the safety standards in place for decades, and advances in equipment, GemDive Inc. has come to suffer very little loss through this location; and as a result, it remains a stable, profitable operation from which to ship valuables from the other sites through.

FInally, on Corbos, ore gathering operations have been put into place, where aurodium ingots can be found. This is the newest company location, and hasn't come without risks, mainly the 'Black Rain Seasons', which require complete shutdown of mining each season. As a result, the miners have become well-versed in speed, needing to operate their equipment and reach depth levels for ore retrieval on a considerably higher schedule than other GemDive Inc. operations. Due to this need for hastened methods, this location is the highest paid for its workers, as it comes with those risks; however, over many years, the mining groups have become like a well-oiled machine, and are capable of stripping down equipment and mining sites within days of reports of approaching storms. GemDivers Inc. has likewise included advanced weather systems for their workers, as well as discounted seasonal lodging for when the rain season hits.

All in all, GemDivers Inc. has managed to overcome obstacles to its operations, establish experienced and well-paid crews, and have supplied their mining locations with some of the best equipment available. This has resulted in a highly efficient, highly profitable and highly maintainable mining company that has begun to expand exceptionally due to valuables provided and customers demanding, especially in relatively stable galactic times.

RATIONALE
Due to the location of the GemDive Inc. operations, namely two-thirds being within Sith Empire space, it wasn't difficult for the Sith to begin applying pressure. Darth Excidium, who took the fore on attaining the company for the Sith, began negotiations for a partnership; this in turn opened the door for using questionable methods to ensure agreement, and eventually Excidium - and the Sith - owned a controlling portion of the company.

Throughout these discussions, it also helped that the Sith utilized secretly hired mercenaries to conduct raids and provide security threats. This pressure and loss to profit allowed Excidium the opportunity to stress how important having Sith protection was, and how by allowing a silent partnership, both entities could benefit from mutual gain; GemDive Inc. would be safe to operate within Sith space with protection, and the Sith would gain a financial resource portion.

As expected, once the controlling interest was achieved, Excidium quickly organized payouts and installed dummy corporate heads to continue operations. He maintained procedures as they were outside of head office, so as to keep things operating as well as they were, but the bosses and board members were now replaced with Sith stand-ins. Each had expansive business knowledge and management skill, and each was loyal to the Sith - especially with their families and friends being kindly relocated to Bastion, where they received homes and land offered freely by the Sith Empire, as well as protective details of Sith Troopers for their security.

So publicly, GemDive Inc. is a legal entity run by professional, experienced business peoples, who have legitimate careers in past businesses and occupations. As far as anyone looking into the company is concerned, it's above board and is doing very well financially.

I wrote out this company long before that recall. The reason it's being reviewed now is because it was left ignored in the pre-factory for over 2 weeks.

If it had been moved and reviewed when I tagged staff, it would have been done before the recall.

I never received a tag notification to move this from the pre-factory. I have checked through my entire list of notifications dating back to April 14th when this request was made.

In the future I recommend that if your submission is waiting to be moved for longer than 48 hours, you should send a group PM to the factory staff instead of waiting twelve days and then arguing with the FJ for doing their job.

I will allow you to submit this company at Tier 3 based on the mandate if you wish to do so. However I would appreciate in the future that you reach out to staff, rather than taking it out on the judges.

I appreciate the leniency, but I'm content to remain with the judge and my decisions. The rules are the rules.

I also think my tone was misconstrued.

Thank you for the chance, but I'll stay with decisions made.

I found the @ way didn't work. Perhaps both methods are screwy now.
