Lord Rance of House Volk of Velmor was once the Commander of the Royal Forces on his homeworld. It was his job to coordinate and command the Velmorian Army and serve his King. He was always a competent commander and a expert at leading men into battle. From a command center, of course. His overview of war and skill at directing his officers is what made him such a great General. He knows when, where and how things should be done. Especially on a battlefield. Though his aggressive tactics only seemed to strengthen the rebels resolve on Velmor and with Jedi help, they managed to overthrow the royal government.
However, it was the loyalty of Rance Volk that ensured Darth Fury and his sister were able to escape their fates and flee Velmor in the aftermath. What was left of his Royal Army escaped alongside him and now makes up a core veteran portion of his current forces. He followed his Sith Lord into exile and returned with him to reclaim their homeworld and reestablish the monarchy. He again followed him to Sith space where he serves as a General in their armies and commander of a legion.
