Starship Review Geonosian Industries Munificent-IV Class Star Frigate

Manufacturer: Geonosian Industries | Stalgasin Hive
Market Status: Closed Market
Production: Mass-Produced
Length: Average
Width: Average
Height: Average
Size: Average
STANDARD FEATURES
  • A modernized, upgunned Munificent-class Star Frigate successor, the Munificent-IV is a brutally devastating warship; it's able to bring much firepower to bear on the enemy, in addition to being cheaper and mass-producible in comparison to a majority of enemy starships; two to four of these "pocket cruisers" can engage, with support, larger ships such as star destroyers and even battlecruisers and have a good cost-to-kill/death ratio should they win, even if taking losses. However, a frail hull and shield, in combination with a few other weaknesses, makes it useful. It's otherwise the same dimensions as a Munificent-class Star Frigate too.
ADVANCED SYSTEMS
  • Hyperwave jammer, improved heuristic processors and enhanced droid brain (when modified to fit a droid brain), gravitic deflector shielding layered on top of normal shielding systems, enhanced reactors and enhanced fire control systems. Upgunned weaponry. Enhanced sensor and communications systems.
STRENGTHS
  • High speed about 105 MGLT, though not as maneuverable as the Recusant-II, makes it able to reposition and move about quickly on the battlefield.

  • Heavy firepower in addition to fire control systems enable the ability to put out truly impressive amounts of firepower, especially in conjunction with other Munificent-IVs, down-range at the enemy. Hyperwave jammer can enable ambushes to be successful as well. Ordnance launchers, in addition, to utilize a variety of munitions, from proton torpedoes to assault concussion missiles.

  • Extremely cheap cost and modular nature to fit a droid brain or organic crew, in addition to largely-automated systems, means it does not cost much in the ways of logistics.

  • Droid brain variant is capable of being mass-produced especially quickly; it's suitable as a fire support vessel or an artillery "pocket cruiser".

  • The Munificent-IV is capable of synchronizing its telemetry data with other droid-brain Munificent-IVs and other droid-brain Geonosian Industries' ships, enabling the ability to coordinate volleys of fire at the enemy in conjunction with each other.

  • Gravitic deflector shielding can attempt to deflect ship-killing ordnance, thus buying it precious time in a firefight possibly.

  • Enhanced sensors and communications systems allow for not only potentially easier detection of objects, including mass detection (though it is important to note it is not a crystal gravfield trap and can still be fooled), but also intergalactic communications - enabling the ability to provide support in long-term campaigns.
WEAKNESSES
  • Weak hull requiring tensor fields to remain stable, in able to weak shields, means it's reliant on weight of numbers and avoiding a line battle - it benefits best as fire support or an artillery ship, not directly brawling other vessels.

  • Lack of point-defense firepower means starfighters are capable of getting in close to fight it and potentially take it out with bomber support.

  • Droid brain variant is more susceptible to ion weaponry and can temporarily disable the ship for longer periods of time.

  • Weight of numbers is required - it's recommended to utilize multiple of them to engage battlecruisers with heavier star destroyer support.
DESCRIPTION

Designed as an upgraded successor to the Munificent-class Star Frigate, the shipwrights of Geonosian Industries deemed it prudent to avoid stripping away the cost reliability and cheap manufacturing of the Munificent-class, thus resulting in the Munificent-IV being useful as a mass-producible, cheap artillery frigate that can be output quickly and for little resource expenditure or fiscal cost. But make no mistake, the Munificent-IV has been upgraded; its plethora of deadly weaponry, in conjunction with fire support systems and such, makes it a threat in massed numbers or even in small "wofl-packs". When working with other droid-brained Geonosian Industries' ships, it can potentially wreak havoc on enemy formations with volleys of unchecked firepower...

Nicely made. I have the same a question, what is the Hyperwave Jammer? I'd like to ask you to link this.
I'd like to ask you to add these fields to the template. These are part of the original template, but not part of the premade fields, yet they are important.

  • Hangar Allocations: (This is the allocated amounts of starfighters and support craft (dropships, shuttles, gunships, etc) this submission can hold in its hangar based on the maximum hangar space capacity listed above)
    • Starfighters: x squadrons
    • Support Craft: x squadrons
  • Hyperdrive: (Does this ship have a hyperdrive? If this ship has a hyperdrive how fast is it? The lower the number, the faster the ship is, you may choose decimals. Any speed below 1.0 requires the hyperdrive to be added to the ship’s strengths and accordingly balanced with weaknesses. Links: Hyperdrive, Hyperdrive Comparisons)

hyperwave jammers are in the munificent link, but i can link them here - i think they're used to stop hyperwave communications.

and i can do that soon!
