- [ Bureaucrat ] - [ He isn't just good at paperwork- he embraces it. Gerion has the administrative skills to keep most things running smoothly, be they corporations or government bureaucracies. ]
- [ Machinator ] - [ His back up plans have back up plans. Gerion is a meticulous planner, executing even the most mundane of schemes with ruthless efficiency and attention to detail. ]
- [ Snobbish ] - [ His tendency to dismiss "primitive" cultures and people as well as looking down on many people he considers unsavory (or just idiotic), makes him rather elitist. This can be especially tiresome when it's obviously in Gerion's best interest to not be so foolish. ]
- [ Greedy ] - [ It's all about the money, money, money. Gerion's tendency to gravitate towards what generates the most profit as opposed to what is morally correct can lead him to all sorts of troubles. ]
Little is known about the unpleasant man calling himself Gerion Ardik. Records from the Umbaran government indicate him to be a member of a cadet branch of House Ardik, the very same house that produced one of the final Sith Emperor's- Tyrin Ardik. During the Ardik Regime's hold over the Empire, the Ardik family on Umbara was placed under close investigation, but it was inevitably found that no connection existed between the two. Strangely enough, once the Emperor was dethroned, the Ardik family on Umbara became much more active.
But the galaxy is full of coincidences, so nothing was thought of it.
Gerion Ardik, with support of his brother, removed an incompetent and illegal Jedi dictator from power, restoring the Rootai Caste to its rightful position of authority over the Umbaran population. For his role in orchestrating the coup, Gerion was appointed Senator of Umbara to the Galactic Senate of the Republic. His tenure over the position was uneventful, as no noteworthy legislation was ever presented to the Senate during that time. Discontent with his boring, albeit lofty position, Gerion was thoroughly tempted by an offer from the Confederacy of Independent Systems. Namely, to become Viceroy of Hypori and resolve the crisis unfolding on the planet.
Defecting from the Republic to the then-Confederacy, Gerion set about on his task to rectify the problems on Hypori. He did this through generally unscrupulous means, dismissing many bureaucrats, replacing them with foreigners and droids, and creating a secret service (composed of mercenaries of course) that answered only to him. Those who orchestrated the trouble, from millionaires to drug smugglers to union leaders, were dealt with. Their opinions either became much more agreeable to the current regime, or they vanished entirely.
It was in this way that Gerion Ardik reversed the socio-economic troubles of the planet (to a more manageable position, at least) and brought Hypori to a better state. Over the course of his dealings, however, he became rather envious of the wealth commanded by the industrialists and CEOs he dealt with. Here he was, busting his chops to enforce law and order, while these miscreants grew wealthy beyond his wildest dreams. And they didn't even have to go through the trouble of laundering public funds. Fully inspired, he acquired the company known as Cestus Cybernetics, overhauling it into the droid manufacturing juggernaut it now is- Hegemonic Automaton.
As Hegemonic Automaton grew in power, Gerion found himself with less time to focus on the affairs of Hypori. He resigned from the position, but by that time the Abrion Corporate Alliance was restructuring itself into the Techno Union. Gerion Ardik had a great deal to do with the drafting of the various charters and constitutions that established the Techno Union's current structure. Because of his loyalty to Tion and assistance in founding the Techno Union, Hegemonic Automaton was seated on the Executive Council of the Techno Union. Gerion himself was appointed Director of the Techno Union's Department of Law.
Gerion now spends most of his days in service to the Techno Union and spurring Hegemonic Automaton to further growth.
