Former Grounds Of The Silver Jedi Temple
Voss, Voss System

"Alright Forcies, listen up."

Commander Jody Parker of the Anatarian Rangers didn't have a thing against Force Users. Hell, she served them in the Silver Jedi. They were soliders, the Jedi were Forcies, including her friend Stephanie. The Jedi Padawan and three others sat in the small shuttle that rocketed them towards their former home world of Voss across a blanket of stars.

"We should have 4 more of your Order on ground at Voss following our arrival once we signal the drop-zone. You know what we are here for, right?"

A few nods, and Stephanie and the back grinned and nodded to her friend. Jody smirked and shook her head.

"One more time." She pulled up a holo-feed of the former Silver Jedi Temple and the waterfalls it once rested on before being dismantled. "Scouts have indicated we didn't take everything we thought we had from Voss, so that's what we are here for. Holocrons. A number of them are missing and your Grandmaster feels they are hidden in the catacombs under the temple grounds, through these waterfalls and below."

The waterfalls were huge and majestic and dangerous. Many caverns and caves ran through the cliff that the temple once resided on and many secret locations belonging to the Silver Jedi were left un-touched.

"We land, we walk down and split up to cover the waterfalls and see what we can find. That's it. I've let the station at Voss-ka know we are coming, and if you have time, they would love to see how you are all doing and how things are. So, job first and then chatter. Find what you can before sun-set and then we take it to the Silver Rest. Job done."

Jody turned off the projector and nodded.

"ETA 5 minutes Forcies."

Stephanie smiled and gave the thumbs up. Jody shook her head again and went back to the cockpit.

  • Abandoned Temple
    Voss, former Silver Jedi territory

William took a deep breath and held it for a moment before exhaling. He rubbed his hands and then ran them through his locks of tangled, golden hair to calm himself, repeating the Jedi code over and over in his head, focusing especially on the first line. There is no emotion, there is peace. It was the standard by which the Jedi were supposed to live, always in control of their emotions, never letting their excitement and passions to rule them, as they may lead them to rash decisions during critical moments and rash decisions led to the Darkside. But this was the padawan's first assignment outside the temple and the last two weeks had turned his life upside down.

A couple of weeks ago, William had been a slave. Backbreaking labor moving crates in a warehouse on Gos Hutta was all he had known for his entire life, until a Jedi Knight of the Silver Order, out on a trip to catch a dangerous smuggler, had discovered his Force sensitivity. He was given the chance to end his servitude to the foul Hutts and begin a new life as a padawan of the Silver Jedi and William saw his chance at freedom and took it without hesitation. Now, instead of the familiar dirty, patched-up slave jumpsuit, he wore a set of clean Jedi robes, a simple black-and-silver lightsaber hanging from his hip.

This was all new to him, but his master had decided that he should see with his own eyes the work that the Jedi were doing to protect the galaxy from those who would abuse it and corrupt it with the Darkside of the Force. So, here he was, out on a field trip with his master, to a planet which used to house a Silver Jedi temple, now abandoned, to help recover some holocrons which were apparently forgotten during the evacuation. This was an important task, William's first taste of the responsibilities of a Jedi Knight and a practical lesson about the second line of the Jedi code. There is no ignorance, there is knowledge.

"ETA 5 minutes Forcies," sounded the bemused, but pleasant voice of the Antarian Ranger who was flying with them on this mission. Or in charge of this mission. As he was pulled from his thoughts, William couldn't quite figure out which. Looking around him, his bright blue eyes scanned the shuttle's interior, taking in the appearance of his companions and grinned as Stephanie gave the Ranger a thumbs up. There was an easy sense of camaraderie amongst the members of the group, which he found a little overwhelming and unfamiliar, but in a positive way.

Too bad this would not last long.

William, the former slave who had been rescued by the Silver Jedi and embraced by them, the man who was given a family and a home to belong to, had a secret. His mechanical left hand, the result of a work accident a few years back, scratched a little at the Ooglith Masquer covering his face, hiding his true identity from his companions. It had been a plan several months in the making, expensive and difficult to pull off, but it was executed perfectly, in a timely fashion. The opportunity to obtain some of the secret knowledge of the Jedi was too good to pass on and so, he was here. A wolf in sheep's clothing.

It will be difficult to pull off this heist, with all the trained and experienced Force sensitives surrounding him, but he was a master manipulator who's self-control was so accomplished, that he kept all traces of the Darkside from him. In this moment, he was a typical, unassuming padawan which did not stand out in any way. Knowing that his acting would impress even Ra'a'mah, his experienced spymaster, brought another grin to his face.
