Get Off My Lawn

A transmission was sent to [member="Darth Arcanix"] from a prominent Makebian law firm that just so happened to be on the pay roll of the Red Ravens. Attached was a familiar agreement with pertinent sections highlighted.

///begin transmission...

Master Service Agreement (MSA)

Between: Krayt Industries and DPC Incorporated

Description: To allow Contractor (Krayt Industries) to have joint-access to Makeb Isotope-5 and building production facilities, including shipyards in Red Raven owned territory. This will be done under the terms of this contract. The Red Ravens retain all rights to the Isotope-5 mines and mining facilities. Krayt Industry is the Contractor in this agreement.

MSA Terms: To allow Krayt Industries and DPC Incorporated co-own any new production facilities, including but not limited to shipyards, housing for labor, etc.
In return for access to the mining facilities and material found within the shipyards built by Krayt Industries, Krayt Industries will build a fleet of ships for the Red Ravens. The exact terms of the fleet will be covered under a separate service level agreement.

All of the above is binding based on the existing treaty with the One Sith. If the treaty with the One Sith dissolves then all of the above is null and void and the following will happen:

Red Ravens will take full control of any facilities and shipyards covered by this MSA. Krayt Industry will surrender joint access to the Isotope-5 mining facilities and any back stock of material.

Any immediate termination of this contract by Krayt Industries requires a 30-day notice period and after 30-days Red Ravens will take full control of any facilities and shipyards covered by this MSA. Krayt Industry will surrender joint access to the Isotope-5 mining facilities and any back stock of material.

The Red Ravens reserve the right to terminate this contract at any time for any reason.

As per the above stated agreement and following hostile and treaty nullifying actions by the One Sith, we regret to inform you that the above sections have been declared valid and in order to ensure a smooth transition Raven troops have already taken control of the facility as we would not want there to be any mishaps or misunderstandings. Your staff will be allowed to leave peacefully.

Our client has also attached a personal note;

Get off my lawn, and tell [member="Reverance"] he still owes me a new table.

Taeli looked at the message that had just scrolled across her desk about the break-up of the contract with the Red Ravens . . . and shrugged as she went back to what she was doing. They hadn't gotten around to actually establishing a presence in the region beyond using a rundown shipyard to produce the Krakana-class Assault Cruiser and a few isotope-5 shipments.

In the long run, she just didn't care to deign it a response. She had more important regions and areas to expand into than the backwater that was the Red Raven region currently. A pity that they had broken ties off with the Sith, that just had trouble written all over for it for the criminals in her opinion and maybe wasn't the best move. Oh well, back to work for her.

Then again, she thought, she did have on thing she needed to address to this company, so getting up a very quick reply, she sent a short and brief transmission that she wanted transmitted to this company's clients.

"Please do inform your clients that, having taken action through this clause in the contract, Krayt Industries retains the right to the Krakana-class Assault Cruiser and all designs there of. Production and use of the Krakana will no longer be permitted by the Red Ravens, and if such a thing continues, legal action will be taken to protect our intellectual property. Furthermore, any current Krakana-class Assault Cruisers within the Red Raven navy shall be turned over to Krayt employees and security for movement back to our shipyards within the territory of the One Sith Empire.

As the stated contract only stipulates the facilities, and no binding agreement was reached about the Red Ravens owning such designs and vessels, they have thirty days to comply with this request. If not, legal action will be pursued up to the value of each and every ship produced that they retain, including costs of maintenance, munitions, and supplies needed to maintain each ship."

Smiling, she added one more thing.

"A personal note back to your employer as well."

"It's a pity you can't see past the transgressions of individuals, that didn't act with the authority or knowledge of others, rather than remembering that there were those that freely helped you. But who am I to say anything, you have your own choices to make to decide who best to have as friends and enemies. Just remember that anger and rashness are not always the best options."

Satisfied, she hit the send button and went back to working on other things, while also informing Jaxson to make sure the Sith knew about everything about the Krakana if the Ravens decided to not play ball. Suing them in a court might actually be amusing.

Reading the most recent missive in one of her offices, the Twi'lek snorted, and then laughed. Really? It was true she'd set up some legitimate business fronts but for the most part the Red Ravens were still very firmly a criminal organization. Krayt had to worry about their reputation. The Ravens did not. Or at least not in the same manner.

A few quick messages between her and the law office saw another message sent out.

Unfortunately the existing Krakana class Assault Cruisers previously in the inventory of DPC Incorporated have fallen into the hands of criminals, and have been reported stolen to the Antecedent Police Department. Please see the attached police report included with this message. Should they be recovered we're certain the fine folks in the APD will do their best to see the Cruisers are returned to Krayt Industries after due processing.

My client received your note and has responded thusly;

"Had it been an acolyte, or one not chosen by your Dark Lord perhaps it would have been transgressions by an individual. When those who speak for your Dark Lord repeatedly attack me and mine, that is an attack by your Dark Lord. That is an attack by the Sith as whole. No reparations were made. No attempt to come to a more agreeable compromise that ensured this would not happen again was made. Enemies and Allies we might have, but Masters we will not stand for."
