Getting in The Groove

Truth be told, it had been some time since Atrina had locked blades with a foe versed in lightsaber combat. Most of her time in recent years had been knocking away blaster bolts and cutting through security droids, fighting against inefficient or inexperienced fighters with no appreciation for the art of dueling. When she came to the Dominion, there was a new beginning ahead of her, as cliche as that sort of thing was. But with that, brought the danger of combat- and though her position as a Shadow meant avoidance of combat was preferred, knowing would be preferred to not.

Atrina held the training saber at her waist while she shut off her senses, a short meditation before the training session ahead. It was slightly heavier than her own, and it felt almost alien. But if a Jedi couldn't adapt, how dare she consider herself a Shadow.

"Well, [member="Jairdain"], ready for a little friendly saber dancing?"

Jairdain had been going through the different katas for the lightsaber, when [member="Atrina"] decided to come join her. It was an open room with lots of space for practices. She had decided to do this in the main area instead of the more private practice chambers for padawans and their masters to be used for training. While Jairdain would never be what one would consider a saber master, she learned she could hold her own in most situations.

For a short period, the two Jedi moved together in practice. Eventually, Atrina spoke up asking Jairdain if she wanted to spar. The last time this had happened had been with Master Dune.

Turning to face her fellow knight, Jairdain nods.

"That would be fun."

Taking up a comfortable stance, Jairdain waits to see if Atrina will make the first move or if she should.

Atrina pulled the training saber off her hip and held it in her right hand. She felt the balance change ever so slightly as it snapped into life. Everything felt much more familiar now as she took in her surroundings. @Jaridain seemed calm and centered, with little flicks and flairs of energy here and there as her senses reached out. She looked comfortable, prepared even. Atrina lunged forward, her left foot landing right as the blade came down in a straight slash at her opponent's left shoulder. Her right foot stayed up as she prepared herself to move in nearly any direction, beginning to lay the bait she loved to use.

Not being of an aggressive nature, Jairdain only blocked the first strike by @Atrina.

She stood with her left foot forward pointing at Atrina and her right foot behind, almost horizontal to her left. Her left hand on top of her right which controlled the movements of her blade. Jairdain was one with the training saber and brought it up to block the strike and pulled away, making no move of her own.

The action of the two Knights started to draw the attention of others practicing in the room and they started watching the spar.
