Getting Started

Brand new here, still kinda getting the lay of the land, but anxious to get the ball rolling. :)
Not really sure the best way to go about getting established here, so any tips or suggestions would be appreciated. I'm generally open to almost anything, and like to let the RP direct the character evolution--mostly used to freeform.

Potential character hooks and relevant meta-info, per Saevio's bio:
  • He is of the Nek'Vyshtal clan of Iridonia (in Ul'Zabrak, Nek = Dark, Vyshtal = Warrior)
  • His father (who has recently fallen ill shortly after his mother's death, is currently on death's door via natural causes) is a renowned bladesmith, a trade that has been passed down through the generations in his clan
  • He learned bladesmithing (and related fields of study) from his father, and is trying to carry on the family tradition, though he lacks the customer-base his father enjoyed, and is thus struggling at the moment
  • He is a very skilled martial artist and Reek rider
  • An old Sith shrine dating back to around 1000 BBY resides in his clan's territory--his father was the caretaker, but now the task is his
  • He's FS with a natural inclination toward the dark side (and is already showing some signs of corruption) but has never been a formal apprentice of a legit Master. What little he does understand of the Force is limited to latent talents, and rudimentary ways of augmenting physical prowess that had been integrated into Iridonian warrior training.
Not sure how useful or appealing any of that might be, but there it is. I could personally see him being a prime target for a Master looking to sink their hooks in, or even a Jedi looking to pre-emptively strike, as it were. Whatever significance the shrine may or may not hold is up in the air for the moment--figured it'd be best to leave that open-ended in case anyone else wanted to use that as an in for some RP. I could also perhaps see a former customer/friend of his father's coming to pay respects to a dying man, or maybe even an errant clan member who had recently heard the news. Maybe his father has some unpaid debts outstanding with some unsavory characters? But yeah, just a few ideas. Feel free to bounce your own around!

I hoped you would be working with Smithing.

I too work in bladeworking, and was trying to think of a way to make a company that makes pure usable swords/Armor/Shields and the like. I can also train you if you would like. Only problem we will have is the idea of you getting over your distaste for other species.

My character is a Sith-Hunter, perhaps he finds intelligence about this shrine and takes a visit? Let the ball roll from there?

That sounds like it could be interesting. Saevio's expertise is mostly limited to bladed weapons, but he would certainly be open to such employment if the circumstances were right, especially now while he's strapped for credits.

That sounds promising, and I'd be perfectly fine with it.
