Designed as an alternative option for close quarters combat, the Chimera is a pump action shotgun with a rather unique design. It's unique dual-barrel, dual-magazine design allows for two different types of ammunition to be chambered at once for more killing power. The Chimera is a powerful beast when loaded with the standard shotgun shell and an incendiary round. A switch lever is also implemented as part of the design for operator flexibility for switching of the main barrel to be fired. Only one barrel can be selected to be fired at any one time, be it the one loaded with the standard shells, or the one with the incendiary ammunition.
The standard shells are capable of damaging armoured and unarmoured personnel alike. For best results, it is recommended that the weapon be used only in close quarters. The incendiary ammunition can be used to set targets alight. A highly effective morale dampening weapon, the burns from the incendiaries have been known to set off nerves, affecting enemy morale in the process.
