THE SWARM RISES ​

The Swarm has been in talks with The Commonwealth since our conception and now we have been invited to start things off. ​

The Story​

​

The Swarm has been hiding in the deepest reaches of the Unknown Region for decades, slowly building its Hivemind and assimilating the races and nations who reside there. Now, at the peak of the Commonwealth's growth, the long shadow of The Swarm encroaches on what little semblance of peace the small government is able to find. Fear of assimilation has driven the weak people of the Unknown to flee towards Commonwealth space, followed closely behind by our glorious Hivemind. These fearful people now strike out at The Commonwealth in a futile scramble to steal resources they need to fuel their escape from assimilation. ​

But there is no escape. Assimilation is inevitable and resistance is futile. The Swarm follows the Vaagari Empire in hot pursuit and all who oppose assimilation will be destroyed without mercy.​

The OOC Info​

​

We have been invited to join The Commonwealth dominion of Cerea and I accepted as this is a perfect oppertunity to get our faction out there and get us all roleplaying as a team! The Swarm will be arriving into the system with a small fleet of ships stolen from the Vaagari Empire during its assimilation and commence attack of all ships in the system, regardless of alignment. An invasion/assimilation fleet will be dispatched to the planet and civilians will be targeted to become joiners and casualties to the populace won't be frowned upon; as long as ample joiners are obtained. ​

There will be a little something for every character type here, so don't be afraid to jump in! While in the end, The Commonwealth will gain control of the planet, we should give them a hell of an IC fight! Just remember to have fun and that this thread isn't about winning, its about forging great stories!​

Here are our (IC) goals for the thread: ​

Naval Objectives:

[A] Engage Vaagari and Commonwealth Fleets

Deploy boarding parties aboard enemy vessels for assimilation

[C] Breach/Prevent blockade of Cerea


Ground Objectives [Warriors]:

[A] Commence Invasion & Assimilation of Tecave City

Establish "ascension zone" to transfer joiners and prisoners to the orbiting fleets

[C] Assimilate all Vaagari and Commonwealth troops at the Outsider Citadels



Ground Objectives [Spies & Prophets]:


[A] Turn the Council of Elders and Cerea President into Joiners (By force or through persuasion)

Spread the Gospel of the Swarm to the populace and establish a Swarm Cult on planet

[C] Sabotage Vaagari & Commonwealth Intelligence Operations on the ground

This thread will be our first as a faction and I want to see everyone get involved! Just post what set of objectives you'll be taking on below and then feel free to join the thread here! I will be posting shortly myself! ​

Now how will this work when we take over a planet that another player character happens to reside on and we assimilate all of the inhabitants to be mindless grub slaves?... Wouldn't that be annoying for any person trying to rp there but wants nothing to do with rping with any at all form of the collective?

Well in this specific case we are simply establishing a presence on the planet to have further RP with The Commonwealth later.

Now if you are speaking in terms of when we go major and start taking over planets, well, that is up for those people to decide. There are bound to be holdouts of non-assimilated that they could RP as. Though I imagine it will be very similar to say, having Sith own Coruscant.

If you are a Jedi and you RP'd on the Sith Coruscant you were kind of expected to take that into account with your RP or do a pre-sith timeline thread in a private section or what not.

In reality I have no problem with people taking some liberties with it and I won't freak out with people doing pre-swarm threads. It shows good RP character to take into account things like faction ownership though, so I like to think it will be a non-issue.
