Ghosts of the Past still burn with hate.

Aboard the large battleship she was traveling on for the one sith the acolyte had taken a break from light saber practice to meditate and focus her powers with the force. Her natural ability to see the force gave her an insight into it few had. She remembered her home the day of the destruction that made her what she was today. The anger the hate and the desire for revenge flowed through her like a hot magma from a mountain. So many had fallen whom she loved and she had been so weak! So pathetically weak! It drove her to reach out and push and pull and play with the force, to see how it could be manipulated and utilized. She'd not yet managed force lightning or other more powerful manifestations attempts had failed and she usually just hurt herself. But she always came back to trying to learn these and other powerful abilities driven by the need for power and her own anger.

@Darth Venefica

The Knight moved about on the battleship that was concluding a routine patrol as it headed back to one of the Sith occupied worlds. She had decided to hitch a ride saving her time from 'borrowing' a ship from some poor sod who was to weak to stop her. She hated space travel but on a massive ship such as this, she felt more relaxed here then if she was in a smaller craft. To much could go wrong in space and there were very little options available to you when such a scenario manifested itself. Besides, only the foolish would dare attack a Sith warship with a full compliment of fighters and heavy cannons.

As she moved through the ship, she could feel another Force user on board, but they lacked the proper connection to the Dark Side. It was there, but it was faint. There seemed to be confusion in the person but there was extreme hate and anger. That was good. Darth Venefica connected to the emotions of the individual and allowed it to lead her to a meeting with its owner. The emotions eventually led her to a training chamber of all places. With a mental nudge and a small gesture from her right hand, the door slid apart and the Dagobah Sith stepped inside.

Inside the chamber sat a meditating female Mitaluka. They were a rare species to see but even more rare to see one willing to embrace the Dark Side. She had never met one before but she had studied about them, like all the species of the galaxy, when she had first been admitted to the Sith Academy. Her views and knowledge on other species was limited since she had lived in solitary on Dagobah most of her life. But she had worked hard to make up for lost time.

"You have much anger...but it is unfocused. You are allowing this emotion to control you...to guide you. Continue this path and it will be your undoing," Darth Venefica commented as she scanned the girl through the Force. Her mind was an open book to the Knight and there was only one chapter being written. Anger.

[member="Shuduc Macar"]

She looked to [member="Darth Venefica"] her focus broken by the sense of the stronger force user. Standing she turned to face her. "It is also what powers me. But I try to focus those emotions. It is a struggle. The fear is what taints it all makes it so unfocused. because along with those I was afraid and I now am working to break that fear. Break it then command it upon others." The words still held tints of her aggression but it wasint projected at the woman before her, "I both sense and see your power in the force. And it is far greater than my own. What brings you to one like myself? I rarely see the knights and masters. They worry on larger questions of their own power." Her words had natural suspicion. Not accusatory merely cautious the Sith would use anything they could to win it's why they were strong. They were willing to risk things to gain greater things.

"Why would you wish to free yourself from fear," the Knight asked moving further into the room, standing only a few feet from the girl. "Fear grants fuel for your passion. It grants you strength and it grants you common sense. Only those that seek to abolish such a powerful motivator have chosen to embrace weakness." Darth Venefica looked about the room seeing the ruined droids and orbs that now littered the room. It appeared the young Miraluka had a decent amount of skill with the lightsaber but there was far much more that made a Sith. "And how would you use fear to dominate others, huh? Even the most cowardly in the galaxy will find courage when threatened with extinction. Force fear onto another without a proper direction of use and all you have created is a reason for them to rebel."

She sighed heavily, then clasped her hands behind her back as a gesture meant to show the Acolyte she means her no harm. In truth, Darth Venefica's true weapon was not her lightsaber but her command of the Force, and mainly dealing with mind manipulation and illusion. However, this girl had piqued her curiosity in the short span she stood here. Perhaps with proper guidance and proper motivation, this girl could be molded into a powerful Sith. But before that could ever happen, she needed to learn to embrace all emotions.

"You may not be aware Acolyte, but there is a war going on. And because of this, many Knights, myself included, and Lords have sought to achieve victory. And...Acolyte....it is the way of all Sith to focus on their power, how to achieve more and how to defend it from others. As for my coming here," she said with a small gesture of a smile, "is because you drew me here. My question to you is this. Why are you here?"

[member="Shuduc Macar"]

She listened the question back however truly struck a nerv, not one that made her angry at the sith. No but it brought the memories back flooding through. As she remembered the fear as she watched Jedi sith and republic soldiers fight. As she remembered her parents gunned down by soldiers as they fled. she began to shake tremble but then the anger and hate followed. "I am here...I am here in this war for my revenge.!" She focused trying to release the tension she did so by gripping the busted up droids some began to creek crack and fractures like a stress ball being squeezed. "To make them pay for the promises they all broke! TO DO WHAT I COULD NOT AS A LITTLE GIRL! THE DAY I WATCH ONE OF THE FILTHY JEDI BLEED OUT HIS LAST BREATH WILL BE MY NEW DAY OF BIRTH!" WIth that she crushed one droid into a compacted piece of mental the power was there but she had trouble focusing it. Potential but she only had begun to learn control recently and she obviously needed to learn it better.

[member="Darth Venefica"]

The Dagobah Sith arched her let eyebrow up. This girl really hated the Jedi which was good, but her emotions were out of control, They would be her downfall before her tongue could taste the bitterness of revenge. "Revenge? Revenge is not a weapon to be used carelessly. And that is what you are doing. What is your plan? To scour across the galaxy and kill every Jedi you meet? Do you think you will live long enough to see your dream bear its fruit? And lets say you achieve this....then what? What will your plan be then? The Jedi are not droids programmed with different settings of difficulty." Darth Venefica shakes her head as she walks a circle around the Acolyte examining the girl before her. "Broken promises? You will see more broken promises before you die and are you going to kill them as well. Perhaps I shall break a promise to you so you can attempt to kill me...then all your dreams will end here."

She stopped behind the Acolyte peeking into the girl's mind and the girl was completely unaware she had a visitor rooting around. There was no particular memory she was seeking but only sneaking a glimpse into what made this girl want revenge so much and there it was. "Your whole plan rests on avenging the corpses of your parents? Charming I'm sure. If you sought out the teachings of the Sith for this reason only then you are already dead. And the Jedi you hate so much....have already won." Darth Veneifca placed both her hands on the girl's shoulder feeling the body tense underneath her touch. "If you ever wish to learn how to control your emotions and learn about the ways of the Sith....then you must redefine you and your needs. You have the Dark Side flowing through you...but you do not understand it."

Darth Venefica removes her hands and heads for the door stopping just before exiting. "To be a proper Sith...you must learn to be one. If you are willing to discard this shortsighted plan of yours and learn the ways of the Sith and Dark Side...then perhaps there is hope for you yet. Think on my words and if the conclusion you come to ends with you embracing a new life....then seek me out on the bridge."

[member="Shuduc Macar"]

She'd spend several minutes just standing there silently thinking, her mind thinking on what the woman had told her. It'd be another 20 or so before she thought on what she wanted, she'd still want her vengeance yes but after how could she protect the galaxy she realized she'd have to be powerful enough to stop such an event again. The mask she wore told her the answer, and with that she walked toward the bridge. Not too long after that he arrived looking to the woman who had spoken to her. She took the mask off showing the face of the woman under it. a pretty face most would think would be proud to be shown.The only perhaps marring feature her eyes blank spheres of white where no sight of normal type had ever been seen by her. "I'm prepared to give everything I have left, my heart, my soul all thats left within the little bit of me that did not die that day if you can promise me a new world greater than the one I saw on my home. My goals may not change but sometimes to achieve a goal you must change how you seek the goal. I am willing to learn what you have to teach." She spoke her full lips moves to form a sign of release perhaps of searching. I was known as Shuduc Macar but I rarely speak that name myself. The girl with that name died a long time ago now. "

[member="Darth Venefica"]

"I can't promise to give you a new world," the Knight said, "But I can promise to guide you down the right path to reach...perhaps even exceed your true potential." So it seemed the Knight had claimed another willing to learn from her. She would shape and mold and corrupt this girl until she was a Sith. A proper Sith. But Darth Venefica knew there was a lot of work to do with this girl. For one, she needed to instruct this girl on how to use her emotions rather than giving into their base needs. Darth Venefica also knew that this self-destructive need for revenge needed to be squashed or the girl would either die trying to achieve her goal of slaying every Jedi or she would die trying to learn the teachings of the Sith Knight.

"Many Acolytes have been without a Master for some time now," she began while staring into the beautiful face of the Miraluka. "But for you, that journey is now over. Henceforth, you will be my second Apprentice and I will be your Master. You will do as I say....you will make every effort to succeed in every test I put to you...and you will listen to my teachings. However, you are not a droid so if something I say is hard for you to comprehend, then raise a question to me and I will explain further. There is no punishment for inquisitiveness...only ignorance."

Turning her back from the girl, she says over her shoulder, "Your first lesson is simple...you will go to the ship's stockade and there you will find a Jedi prisoner. You will stare at him only, ignoring his words and insults, and focus on controlling your anger and hatred. If you are to succeed as my Apprentice...then you will learn to control your emotions. Now go."

[member="Shuduc Macar"]

She placed her mask back on nodding. She now had a master or mistress either way that journey was complete. A new one began and she already had one test to start. "Yes Mistress." She spoke calmly and walked down to the cells as ordered. upon arrival she already could feel the hate and anger as she saw the jedi knight. The desire to crush them here and now almost overwhelming. She had to focus though push her will down on those feelings and simply stand or pace silently watching the jedi. [member="Darth Venefica"] had given her orders and she understood one thing if nothing else about the sith if you wished to disobey an order from your master you had best be ready to challenge them or die. So for now though it pained her agonized her she silently watched the jedi.

An hour had passed since she sent her new Apprentice to the stockade and it was time to check on the girl. She entered the holding cells and saw the girl staring at the Jedi, her Apprentice's anger and hatred swelling inside her. The Jedi looked at the Sith Knight with confusion in his eyes but Darth Venefica ignored him. "The urge to kill him is great but you have shown me you can demonstrate restraint. Your emotions are your most powerful ally next to the Force. By harnessing them, you can add power to your abilities and strength to your physical attacks. Remember, you control them and not the other way around."

With a brief glance at the Jedi, she smirks at him. She hated the Jedi but unlike her Apprentice, hers was for a different reason. She didn't seek revenge against them, she sought to show them how shortsighted they were and how the whole lot of them where hypocrites. They preached peace but waged war in its name. They preached equality but set themselves on pedestals. They preached safety and security of every citizen in the galaxy but in truth only helped those that had something to offer the Republic. The Jedi Order was the true blight upon the galaxy and it was only a matter of time before the disease was cured.

"Lets leave this Jedi's fate to the Sith Council. Come with me," she says leaving the holding cells. Darth Venefica and her Apprentice return to training chamber where the Knight motions for the girl to sit. "Before we begin your training, I have two questions for you. The first, what do you think the Force is? The second, what do you know of the Dark Side?"

[member="Shuduc Macar"]

She thought of these things, she'd seen the force so much of her life. She at as instructed and began to try and put into words what she saw and felt. "I shall try Mistress. When I see the force I see the two sides constantly moving, undulating the force is life, it's death, it's what connects everything we see. Save a scant few life forms. It is there in life born and death fleeting. The force is everything and nothing all at once. When I see you I see it radiate through you and off you. I see it reberveriate as you grow angry. annoyed, happy or sad. To me the force is my sight it's how I perceive things. I do not see the force as a mysterious something I can only feel but cannot see to me it is a living ocean of existence constantly flowing. The Dark side is the mirror of the Light, but it is vital for without the dark side the light cannot exist. It is our emotions our desires our wants our fears our anguishes it is all we feel and iniatly know. It is death but also the joy of life and above all else it is the force behind the evolution scientist tout for species to grow. it demands we struggle grow and change to remain strong or we wither and die." She spoke To [member="Darth Venefica"] with the conviction of what she did know and what she'd experienced from her own special sight.

"Well put, Apprentice," Darth Venefica commended. She felt a tinge of jealousy at how the girl could 'see' through the Force. To see the various colours of emotions radiating off people and to see the auras that surrounded each individual must be beautiful. There was a power granted by the Force to achieve such a feat, but it did not lie with her chosen path.

"The Dark Side is fueled by all emotions and that is why we lectured you on controlling them. They give you passion....they give you strength. But they will destroy you if left uncontrolled." The girl, like her other Apprentice, knew of the Dark Side but had not fully given herself to it. She needed to allow herself to become a conduit for the Dark Side to flow from and through her. She needed to take the giant leap, the Great Fall, and truly become attuned with the Dark Side.

"Tell us Apprentice...where does your greatest fear reside in the galaxy?"

[member="Shuduc Macar"]

She hesitated a moment, her fear rose up in her just as she thought of it, it was the feeling of being helpless of feeling unable to do anything as everything she loved or cared about died. "It is the fear that took me to the Sith encampment where I was found, the Jedi were gone and the Republic forces destroyed. Only the Sith remained and I'd been so afraid I couldn't save any of my people as they were attacked. I felt weak and fearful. I never wanted to feel that weak again, it lead me to rage to strike at the only things left from that battle I hardly reached past the first few sith guards with the force before a Sith Lord properly showed me how unprepared I was for what I was doing." She shuddered. "I fear so much becoming that weak again so powerless that I once more lose all I ever loved. I fear it greatly and I fight to never be that weak again." The sense of her own fear pulsed off her like a wave of pain in her own mind. She so hated that feeling to fear becoming that lost scared little girl again. Helpless amid a war zone and staring helplessly as life left her loved ones bodies. "So in short Mistress, my greatest Fear is home. back on the planet of Myr-Var-er."

[member="Darth Venefica"]

"Prepare yourself mentally. I want you to rest physically and meditate on everything I told you. We are going to Myr-Var-er....where you will face your past and shed it. And there you will embrace your new life. Meet me in the hanger tomorrow morning." The Sith Knight took her leave from the chamber. She had some preparations to make herself. Her new Apprentice needed to fully understand the nature of the Dark Side, and as her Master; it was up to her to make sure the Miraluka did just that.

Her first stop was to secure a transport shuttle for the trip. After speaking with the warship's commander, she had acquisitioned a shuttle. She headed down to the hanger to conduct an investigation of the ship's exterior and interior. Then she checked and doubled checked the ship's operating systems. Satisfied with the results, she made her second stop.

After speaking with some of the pilots, she chose one that seemed to be more competent than the others. Darth Venefica hated space travel and because of this, she never took the time to learn to fly properly. So her life and that of her Apprentices would be in the hands of a pilot, so she carefully chose the pilot that would fly them to the planet. Her last stop was to have the shuttle outfitted with supplies, food and water and various drinks.

With everything in order, she returned to her temporary quarters and retired for the night.

As they arrived at the planet the woman simply felt a weight upon her as if somebody had placed them around her neck and shoulders and it slowed her mind. This place felt heavy, but it felt hot too with anger and hate. So much wrong done here to her people. The sith had not done much to rebuild the old city instead leaving it to burn as a warning to those who resisted. As they arrived she followed her new master out of the ship once they landed. Her mind was struggling reliving the days of fear and agony.

[member="Darth Venefica"]

She inhaled deeply, soaking in all the hate and anger that flowed all around this area. It had been some time since she felt so much primal emotions in one place, and yet she found herself craving more and more. The place still showed the remnants of a battle that bore the signs of so much death, pain, and loss. She now understood why her Apprentice harboured so much anger, but it was anger that was misused. She had passed the small test on the warship when confronted with the Jedi prisoner, but compared to what she was to experience next, that was just a tease. Her Apprentice chose to walk the path of the Sith, that wound around like a coiled snale, that ended with the complete full understanding of the Dark Side.

Darth Venefica brushed away some debris with her left foot, opening a small clearing to sit on. Looking up at her Apprentice, she calculated how much this girl could endure, mentally. Her other Apprentice had survived the horrors shown to her, making her more connected to the Dark Side. However, this Apprentice was motivated by revenge, something she will need to confront some day. For now, she needed to give herself over to the darkness.

"You will walk through those ruins reliving the horrors of your past. Open your mind up and let the darkness surround you. Feel, listen, smell, and taste everything around you while the energy from the Dark Side decides if you are worthy enough to be its daughter. When you feel the tendrils of the Dark Side poking around, sit and meditate and allow it to test you."

With nothing more to be said, the Sith Knight closed her eyes and fell into a dark meditation trance.

[member="Shuduc Macar"]

She nodded hesitantly before heading into the ruins of the city she once called home. The streets were in shambles, buildings rotting and rusting from neglect and the remains left showing life once lived here were only shadows of what they once were. But it all still felt real. Her mind dwelled on the memories the beautiful day that seemed perfect in every way. Then it happened and here the force let her see it all over again. Fear swelled in her greater than ever for now she knew what was coming. All peace was shattered as she walked to one of the schools the jedi had set up with the republic to help foster the growing colony. Almost immediately the republic forces moved to stations. But quickly it got out of control the Sith came in swarms almost. She ran trying to reach the shelters but they closed before she could. more organized.” She spoke back to the other Sith. She ran back to her home her parents were exiting the place trying to find her she had to reach them she remembered everything would be ok if she could just get to them. That’s when she wasint sure what happened the little girl fell or was she thrown? She wasint sure. All she remembered was waking up amid flames and screaming. As the memories flooded back she cried she remembered crawling over her parents both laying dead. She shook them violently begging them to wake up. Then she looked p and the fear was almost touchable a man stepped before her a light saber in his hand looked to her. She saw the Dark side flowing through him like a great angry fire of rage and hatred. As he raised his blade a figure flew in as if brought by a wind smashing the mans saber aside. She recognized the aura it was the jedi master who often came to the school seeking possible jedi candidates. He loved seeing the kids and always had stories for them. His power seemed almost equally bright in the light side as the man before her was in the dark. She watched them fight like two titans in her senses or giants battling.

Every minute felt like hours every strike they made seemed like it’d crack the very earth beneath them. But slowly she saw the jedi master weaver. He was growing tired all the fighting was too much and eventually he was struck down his light saber falling with a clank to the streets. As she looked around she watched the Republic forces being slain, jedi falling helplessly tears flowed through her eyes and down her cheeks. Why? How? They were supposed to keep everyone safe? What could they not keep them safe? The Man with the hate flowing through him looked to her and as if dismissing her walked off his weapon turning off as she sat there helpless amid the carnage. He stopped then and turned only slightly. He spoke. “Is that what they promised you little girl? What do you think of their promises now?” With that he left and she stayed there for hours crying. But after those hours the pain and fear and sorrow burned and changed. The jedi had lied! They promised them! They promised! She that day hated them all the Sith may have killed people but the jedi had promised them! The Republic promised them! She picked up the old jedi masters saber and followed the Sith back to their camp when she arrived she turned the saber on and swung it on the first guard who got too close. She killed the first two simply because they were in shock of what they saw. But as one shot the weapon from her hands she screamed in rage a massive shockwave echoed her rage through the force sending the trooper through a wall. That’s when the Sith lord the one she’d seen earlier approached and grabbed her with the very force she’d just used. He pulled her close. Like she was going to be crushed like an insect. But he simply smiled she knew he smiled. His words felt almost….kind like a impressed parant seeing a child do something adorable. “You have hate and anger…tell me girl what do you hate?” He asked

She spoke only two words. “The…JEDI!” Her words for a child had hate that she should not be able to spit from her mouth but it was there all bottled up all ready to kill everything. He laughed and set her down.

“You want to make them pay? Then you must use that hate if you want the power to make them feel your suffering that hate is your path to it if you have the courage to follow it.” She felt the Dark side now pushing at her like a creature seeking a way into a house. She sat down and began to focus to let it in and it flowed strongly more than ever it began to flood her body and she remembered why the mask was used on that day she had died she was not the Shuduc Macar of this world. That child died all that was left was the faceless creature who stalked the Jedi’s nightmares and who willingly gave herself to the Dark Side. As she remembered the Dark Side of the Force finally overtook her consuming the last vestiges of the girl inside all her sweetness and kindness that may have been left finally eroded away like paint scraped off by a sand blaster. But she had to control the sea of emotions she now felt the power she felt and she focused concentrated with all she had and slowly began to contain it. As she finally came to finish controlling it all she fell floated up before falling to her knees and breathing heavily. She sat there for a time before she could stand up. As she stood up her steps took her back to her mistress now when she looked at this place the memories only surfaced if she allowed it and only how she desired it. She no longer feared this world it was now simply a place she had buried herself long ago. So now she returned to [member="Darth Venefica"]

The Dark Side was so powerful here, and while the Sith Knight sat cross-legged on the ground in deep meditation, she slipped unfelt into the mind of her Apprentice. She couldn't see what the girl saw but she was able to catch glimpses of her memories, and basking in her emotions. The girl had survived the horrors that took place her when she was younger, her harboured anger toward the Jedi justified. She felt the girl's fear and the slight tremble of her body as the Dark Side wrapped its cold fingers around her, cuddling her and making her feel wanted. The girl had survived the ordeal, changed now forever.

She felt the girl returning to her and without opening her eyes, she said, "Now you are ready." The real training will begin and the girl will learn the true meaning of pain.
