Electronic Countermeasures: The Gidim class Bomber has a sophisticated ECM suite to aid in protecting it during bombing runs and fleet engagements, making it more difficult for sensors to lock onto the bomber.
Atmospheric Entry: Much like the older TIE Bomber, the Gidim class Bomber is capable of entering and exiting a planet's atmosphere to provide additional support to ground troops.
Slow: These bombers are incredibly slow and can easily be overtaken by enemy starfighters or corvettes. Their lumbering pace makes them easy targets for larger enemy vessels as well as ground defenses operating on a sight and fire system.
The Hit the Magazine!: While somewhat armored, they're not invulnerable. During development it was noted that the Gidim class Bomber has a flaw in his Modular Bomb Magazine. A direct hit to this section could rupture the hull of the vessel and cause chain reaction in which the Proton Bombs in the magazine go off in rapid succession; destroying the vessel from within. Its likely that such an explosion could even cause damage to those vessels nearby.
While not the fastest bombers in the Galaxy, the Gidim class Bomber succeeds in its intended purpose, as a dedicated bomber. Its design was inspired predominately by the MG-100 Starfortress SF-17 used at the height of the conflict between the First Order and the Resistance (circa 30ABY). To this effect, the Gidim class Bomber has a Modular Bombing Magazine that can accelerate the Proton Bombs as they're dropped from the vessel to the enemy or target below. However there is a fatal flaw in the design of the magazine, and a strike in just the right location can cause a chain reaction which would result in the destruction of the vessel itself.
Even with it being slow, and having such a flaw, its destructive capability in its role as a bomber has seen it being fielded by the Hellknights in larger numbers.
