The Diarchy had taken their first steps in a new life. Bastion was a excellent planet for the brothers. Pre-existing industrial zones and fortresses set in the backdrop of a human friendly environment. Normal gravity and a temperate climate had the planet beginning to feel like home. It was not long ago their Father Kakus - the deep well of power that the brothers learned and drew from had disappeared. The mystery of his vanishing to the Diarchs had left them uncertain of their future but these first steps were reassuring to the young Lords.

Last they had known the Galactic Alliance was closing in on Taris, homeworld of the family. Lord Kakus had begun preparations for them all to leave the planet but when the time came their father was not at the shuttle bay with them. Instead, their fathers constant and ever seeing advisor Tashsi Qsa Tashsi Qsa was there waiting for them. Rellik had never spent much time with the man but always saw him with their father. A shadow, a swirl of power that felt like a blackhole of energy whenever he came near. Rellik had seen him in the dark of their old fortress, in his nightmares.

Upon asking the confidant where their father was they were only given cryptic responses and told to entrust his will. So they did, even then Rellik would never be able to fully let their fathers whereabouts fall to the wayside. His brother Diarch Reign Diarch Reign was preoccupied staging the new world. Something he was always good at. Leading men to great achievement. Rellik looking out unto their own new paradise felt the giant hole that his fathers presence had left behind. His brother would not need him for some time and he was always better suited to the shadows. Going to his personal chambers he began to organize his items and make his room his own.

Than there it was, a wayfinder with a recording device. It was certainly not Relliks and had the insignia of their father on the bottom, the double star. Rellik activated the recording, the comforting and dominant face of Lord Kakus appeared.
"Hello my son. Listen closely, this recording is the key to bringing our family back together. Take my wayfinder. It will lead you to the home world of the Rakatans, there you will find someone who will help you. Follow your feelings, search the force and trust in Tashsi. I can not say much in case this recording is found by someone else but eventually, I will see you again."

With a sharp static, un-usual for working recorders the hologram cut off. With pain, regret and a fiery rage Rellik pondered what his Father had told him. "Go to the homeworld of the Rakatans, find a random person on the whole world that my father knew, and trust in Tashsi." Rellik gathered his things, some puzzle he knew nothing about and a chance to help his father left no time for hesitation. He called over his communicator for his personal IV-9 Shuttle and litigation droid (Onyx) to be gathered and prepared for take off with several months of food and water. Moving directly towards Tashsi's chambers with the recording device.

Upon opening the French wooden doors to Tashsi's chambers he could not see the man but knew he was there. He slammed the recording on the table and began the holograms message. Letting it play to its completion before saying anything.
"Tashsi, know this. I will do anything to help my father." Going to one knee, in a more subserviently manner. "Please come with me upon this mission and you will have my full support until the end of the Diarchy." Relliks un-ease was paramount. He had never formally confronted the man, nor did he know what he truly even was. In some ways, he was still the nightmare from his dreams.

BASTION
Bastion's Beginnings
Tag: Diarch Rellik Diarch Rellik
As if materialising through the shadows, the Anzati took a step out of the darkness, his puid obsidian-black cloak covering all but his face. In front of him, the Shadow Diarch. Merely days after his father's death, and the child found himself confronted by the inevitable truth: he would always be the second in command. For someone in the shadows, it is quite ironic he himself would be at the shadow of his more presentable, more honourable, more expressive brother. It was clear as day that the supposed balance between brothers vanished in all but name after Lord Kakus' death.

The palid, dead-looking jester looked at Rellik as he always did: a light smile on his face, eyes directly pointed at his own ones. And then, the Diarch kneeled. He betrayed his father's nobility, the teachings he carefully passed through his sons, killing the very soul Lord Kakus constructed, just to be certain that the flesh was dead. Even if pleased with his predictions comming true, it didn't make the High Chancellor less astonished -less angry. If the Jester wasn't enslaved by the laws created by the boy's father, he would grab Rellik by the throat, and force him down to further his disgrace: to make him learn never to bow down.

"Stand up, child. A Diarch has to enforce order, not cry and plead. Your father didn't bow to anyone, and neither will you." It was a harsh, judgemental, almost disgusted voice. Yes, he first needed to teach the desperate Diarch to respect himself -then, to question the pitiful position his brother has destined to him. "Your brother already knows this. There is no reason creatures of shadows such as ourselves can't." , he continued, opening a wide yellow smile, while mockingly comparing them both. It made sense -both were obfuscated, victims of something, be of their own choosing or as the choice's consequences. With his left hand, he helped the Diarch up. The Anzat's skin was cold, pale and cadaverical. It appeared to be only skin and bones, with no veins and no beating whatsoever. "Reign may be the face of the Diarchy's coin, but you're something more yourself. Your father had much greater plans for you, youngling. As do I. Lead the way".

The Diarch would lead him into a ship, a transport -for all the Anzat cared, it could be a flying bantha. It was completely unimportant. Everything but what got out of his mouth at the moment was completely unimportant. "You humans have always a repulsive need to be, well, something more than human. To be masters of your own destiny -as if it ever was possible. To be something. But chaos has a human heart. And terror, the human form. I respect you, in a way I don't respect Reign, exactly because you embody those. Of course, you may well know that everything has its contrary. Light battles against darkness, and order battles against chaos. And yet, your father envisioned something more. Light and darkness, Reign and Rellik, to forge order. And yet, you are the chaos to your brother's order, the darkness to his light. Outcasted, hidden. What have you to say about that?"

The air was cold, similar to the touch of the Jester. The aura around the two men was dark, slow and almost like death itself.

His brashness was surprising. No one beyond their father had ever spoken to him in such a way, even Reign knew to keep his distance on such matters. The man rose with Tashsi's aid. Standing resolute with his back straight and face cold and calm. Although his eyes held brightness like he was staring into cold dark beauty of a dying star. "There are those who see my demeanor and behavior as annoyances. You are correct though, they are more than that. Or maybe that is just the way I see them. I have been in the shadows of giants for all my life. My Father, his studies of Lords such as Sidious, and my brother now. My character is one of many threads and turns. I use this to sow descent and achieve my own personal goals. In the end for a man to truly be my equal he must have his own dreams and those dreams must be on equal to the level of mine." This amount of honesty had never left the young Diarchs lips before. The room, a delicate show for two. With the weight of the galaxy between them.

"I have felt from my first moment of cognitive thought that I was made for more. Something drawing on me like the strings to a perfect symphony that I knew I had a place within. It pushed me ever more to my own castle. My own destiny. I believe you are correct, that chaos has a heart beat. In this homeostasis of the whills of the force. My function has a purpose. One that I will undoubtedly see one day. In this regard I can see why my father chose you as an advisor. You might call this my human nature but I know that it is just a step upon the journey to that castle. If you wish to be one of the stones on the paved road to it, than so be it. All I can do is thank you and move forward."

Knowing that his typical jovialness and shenanigans had no place under the gaze of the Jester he cut the act. He turned his back on him to show him that he would do it with, or without him. Heading to the shuttle bay where they would embark upon their journey to Rakata.

Taking off from Bastion was a more sobering moment than expected. For the first time going out in space had felt more like a trip into the unknown than an adventure to the stars. Tashsi's words lingered on his mind. He is a being that will need to be studied in his own right.

The stealth ship had a sensibly large interior. Allowing Rellik to move from the medical bay to the storage room double checking all of their supplies. The wayfinder worked as its own guide, all they needed to do was manage basic utilities and apply a little effort. All of which the litigation droid could do on its own. The two men were up to their own devices.

Rellik returned to the cockpit just in time Moving through the chaos of the unknown regions was always a beautiful sight. Light, darkness and distortions of all of the unknown would pass by the cockpit window at lightspeed. The trip though compared to a normal one consisted of abrupt stops and turns. Constantly changing trajectory as to not be lost forever.

Entering the remnant space of the fallen empire the abandoned star port from legend was still there. Many legends have traversed its halls but that was not their goal today. The pre-determined trajectory of the Wayfinder was already bringing them into a descent unto Rakata Prime itself.

Their view was islands as far as the eye could see, if you did not have a specific guide to show you where to go you could traverse this world for years finding mysteries and wonders. A large amount of it was in ruins but it was still a sight to see. The ship touched down on the outskirts of a broken down building, with architecture un-like any Rellik had never seen. The ships landing gear launched and the ramp came down in a bellow of smoke.

"Tashsi, it is time. This must be the place. Lets begin the search for whomever my father believed could help us."
