Character Gil Horn

Gil Horn

Name: Gil Horn
Age: 34 Galactic Standard Years
Homeworld: Corellia
Force Sensitive: Yes, Light Side Alignment
Faction: New Jedi Order | Galactic Alliance

The Horn name casts a long shadow across the galaxy. Its earliest forebearers helped shape the fate of the ancient New Republic during the times of Luke Skywalker and Han Solo, and would go on to become prolific in both the Galactic Alliance and New Jedi Order. In the times since, that name continues to live on, and though it has spread to many different lineages, with far too many families existing to tell the difference, but the expectation that the name carries is hard to escape. That is an understanding Gil had to make when he was young, long before he had even sought out to join the New Jedi Order of modern times.

Born a street rat on Corellia, Gil did everything he could to forget the expectations his parents had put on him. Live up to the name they had always said, right up till the day they passed away and everything they owned was taken by the banks. He survived, he endured, and he blamed the name Horn for all the troubles cast down on Gil. Then, one day a chance for change came. A young Jedi Knight operating on the world was captured, and her Padawan learner was wounded. Gil found the young Rodian Jedi near death in the street, and in that split second, he faced the most trying decision in his life. Leave them to their fate, make off with the lightsaber and make the biggest profit a street urchin had ever seen, or help them. In the end it was no real decision at all for Gil.

He helped the Padawan, and together, they staged a rescue of their Jedi Master. When all was said and done, the Jedi offered to bring Gil back to Coruscant, back to the New Jedi Order. She had sensed a connection to the Force within Gil, and offered him the chance to turn away from the dark path he had set himself on. He had a chance to live up to the name he had long hated.

He became a Jedi.
