Give the Evacuation Code [Rebel Alliance]

Bad things were coming. The Benefactor had received news via a trusted member of her closer staff that a message had been sent from 'Katarn'. The new bounty issued for the mysterious leader of the Rebellion had apparently drawn the flies, and the Togorian had had a rather unpleasant encounter with an unknown hunter. Counter-bounties had been posted for the capture of this particular predator, but there were certainly more of them. And someone now knew of their secret base on Heklor. The base was never expected to last forever undiscovered, but the timing felt much too soon, and they were not prepared to fund the construction of a new base just yet, with resources recently diverted to build a fleet. At least they still had Praesitlyn.

Lasedri herself had returned to the Alliance's secondary base to oversee the evacuation of personnel and priority artifacts. Top-secret fighters needed to be transported out of the factory, and important documents needed to be erased and computers either shipped out or burned. It was time to purge all signs of their operations in this part of the galaxy.

The leader of this unpopular group of freedom fighters lingered in the hangar where three of the brand new blockade runners idled as their crews prepped for takeoff. She would be embarking on her own of the three, the Intangible, as soon as her final debriefing with General Kar and resigning General Mrrew was finished. The usually non-emotive woman sighed and somberly addressed the two. "Thank you for arriving on this short notice. I especially appreciate your quick service, Kar." She nodded at the Mandalorian, sincerely grateful for having someone to step up to the task as her right-hand man stepped down.

Turning to Mrrew, Gen pursed her lips, knowing the risk he had taken to alert her and possibly save her life and the Rebel Alliance's war effort. After a moment of pause, she smirked and offered her hand to shake. It might be the last time they meet. "Of all people, I trust a Beast Hunter to know how to lay a trap."

(Any other Rebels may join as well!)

"No problem, I am only too glad to help, I have been looking for a way to apply my skills, and I think this is finally a place I can do that. I just hope I can do the post justice." Mirta said with a smile, her helm held by under her arm. She was wearing her mandolorian armor out of habit more than anything else. "I am sorry to see you go, you seem a capable general and fighter. I do hope you are not leaving the group though, could use a man like you." Mirta was nervous and thus rather quiet. She had given up on her plans to reunite with [member="Daxton Bane"] (don't join just wanted you to know you were missed) So here she was fighting with a group she knew little about but that was going to change. She was going to make a name for herself. Mirta Kar would be a name known in the galaxy, that was something she had never managed to do with the mandos. So here she was. Hopefully this was a good fresh start.

Mrrew nodded to [member="Geneviève Lasedri"], and shook her compartively tiny hand in his. "A pleasure to have served the Alliance." After that, Mrrew turned back to the Mandalorian who was to take his place. He reconized the Mandalorian helmet immidietly when he first saw her. Mandalorian; which meant she was probalby a good fighter, hopefully a good leader. She would fill his post nicely. He gave a nod, but didn't confirm or deny whether or not he'd be leaving the group. Honestly he wasn't much sure himself. After the brief exchange with the two, Mrrew turned around to the base, where dozens of rebels and droids were carting supplies and technology into cargo freighters. The hundred labor droids he'd stored at the base to help with matience after using them to guild the Gulid's facility on Alaris Prime stood by, while a few rebels helped them into the standard full body armor that some of the Rebels wore. When he arrived, he'd arranged for the entire area to be scanned for bugs, listening devices, or recorders- and had found none. He'd also arranged for the newest members, and the members he trusted the least, to be with the first wave of evacuation shuttles rather then the one being readied now. Now he adressed the Rebels.

:They'll probably use probe droids and orbital scans to confirm that this what they think it is. We can't afford to have it look evacuated, or they won't bother to walk into our traps." Mrrew grimanced slightly, remembering the bug he had to remove from his blaster pistol- the main reason the Bounty Hunter knew he was going to walk into a trap. "The droids will be dressed in any armor and full body concealing clothing we can spare- they'll be piloting loading vehicles, speeders, and they'll be carrying 'supplies' out to the cargo ships. After we've all left of course. In reality, once the base is evacuated, they'll basically just be milling around the base to make it look populated. I would also like a group of volenteers, in order to helpspring the trap. Be warned that whoever comes will not be alone. They may capture you. They may kill you. Hnece why only a select few of you even know the location of the new base, as of yet." Already, a few of the marines that once took orders from Mrrew was lining up. "Those that stay behind will be in two groups, if there's enough of you." It was alreayd looking as if there would be. "One will be within the base, equiped with stelath generators. They will make sure you're not discovered by initial scans for life forms. You'll be hiding in broom closets, secret compartments, et cetera. Team two will be in the jungle, hidden as well as possible. The scanner jammers within the base should re-inforce your stealth devices, to prevent being picked up by life-form scans."

The Togorian paused briefly, glanced back at Mirta and Genieve, before looking back to the Rebels that had stopped for the briefing. "Once they eralize the base has been evacuted, and the droids are more then likely a distraciton eo ensure that the Rebels do escape the system, the first thing they'll do is look for information. Our main comptuer terminals will be wiped, of course, but we "wont have time" to set our slicers on it. If they have slicers, they'll be able to hack into it, and gather the information inside. Of course, the hardrives have been swapped... and all the information inside is false. They'll make their way to teh terminals int eh center of the base, cutting down labor droids all the way. Then the stealth generators get flicked off. The units inside the base are ambushed by our stealthed units, the Rebels in the jungle will emerge from their hiding places, and attack any units posted outside the base, before closing in on the enemy units inside. If possible," Here he looked at Genieve. "WE'll have a few volenteers in fighters, the cheapest ones possible, in case the enemy brings gunships and the like." A few rebels who had been suiting up the droids, all dressed in flight suits, eyed their benefactor for confirmation.

"In the event that our ambush fails, I've arranged for a little treat for the enemy, involving the local wildlife... I will be watching remotely in order to arrange for the droids I have hidden a few kilometers away to release said treat. If the enemies catch us by suprise, any possiuble units will retreat to a small clearing several miles west of here, where an evacuation vessle is hidden with undergrowth. We may be losing our home base, but we will also be showing them the danger of interfering with the Rebel Alliance. We will show them a threat." After his brief speech, the Togorian turned to [member="Mirta Kar"]. "Of ocurse, this is all only with your approval, General. Feel free to tweak the plan in any ways you like. I am simply here to clean up the mess I've created."

(I really hope this becomes a Skirmish thread...)
Edit: I'm arranging for it to become one, possibly. :)

"I am personally more for gas and bombs, and no one left behind. We draw them in and then blow them to hell and poison those that survive the blasts. " She said coldly. We could risk men and your plan is sound, but I would rather spoof sensors so it looks like there are life signs hiding in the hidden section of the base, in addition to the droids all moving about. They make their way in, and boom. We also detonate the around the outside of the base to hurt anyone to cautious to enter the base. That is what I propose anyways, Then we also have the perk of no poking around our former base as it would be wrecked beyond recognition. "

Mirta threw that out there wondering what the others thought. "I am not sure what you two think of that though, care to share your thoughts? "

[member="Mrrew"] [member="Geneviève Lasedri"]

The Benefactor took in the advice from both parties and mused over it, trying to discern which plan would be most efficient without risking a significant loss of material, or men and time--two things they did not have enough of. "I think General Kar is right about detonating this place, Mrrew. I don't want to risk leaving anyone cut off inside the base so the rest of us may flee. If this bounty hunter has procured forces from the Hegemony, then they wouldn't stand a chance if the hangars were shut down.

"That being said, we'll definitely have to give them a fight, and a starfighter counter with your perimeter trap would keep them busy. It might even push them into the base for cover." Gen paused and considered such a scenario, a shrewd expression leaking onto her face. "Of course, that would be unfortunate for them."

A hiss resounded from the corvette Intangible as it appeared she was nearly ready for liftoff. Gen nodded at the captain. Even though she would not be leaving immediately, it was especially reassuring to know that, should the alarm arise, the Rebel leader could scram out of here at a moment's notice. "I'm conflicted on leaving any indication of another base, false or otherwise," she admitted, turning back to face her two commanders. "Would it be prudent to do that and start them on a search? It would waste their energy, but it would also be one less location they would have to scout." Strategy, strategy...

[member="Mirta Kar"], [member="Mrrew"]

(Sorry for the late reply, I was sick yesterday)

Mrrew looked between both parties, and nodded. That could be best. "If they are getting help from Tion, then we need to take them by complete suprise. If they in any way know we're going to fight back, then they'll bring enough ships to destroy half the planet. You're right- a quick starfighter attack would be less risky then usiong ground forces- but if they bring ships they'll likely blast us out of the sky within minutes." Plus he still really wanted to use his little trap involving the local wildlife... But that one would have to wait until later in the battle, if ti happened at all, anyway. Mrrew glanced back to [member="Geneviève Lasedri"] as she started talking again. "There's billions of habitable planets in the galaxy... if they tried to scout every one, by the time they found us their grandchildren would've died of old age. We could coat the main computer terminals in something blast proof? It would look as if we did it as not to lose crutial information in the event of an attack on the base. In reality, it's so they could go chase some shadows. It would give us neough time to set up our new base- enough time to be ready if they find us again." Mrrew shrugged. "But as I said- it's up to the two of you."

[member="Mirta Kar"]

Mrrew made a good point about the force that would likely arrive to storm the fortress, and the blockading fleet that would undoubtedly accompany it. The starfighters would be hard-pressed to hold off this attack by themselves. "We'll launch a couple decoy transports; have them accompanied by fighters that will break off once the Tion ships attack." The next part would be tricky, but there was a small spark of confidence she had in the Rogues' abilities. "They can then proceed to the aft of their flagship. They'll have to divert their attention to defending that rather than bombarding." Playing aggressive was how she liked it. Hide in the shadows and play cautious, then strike with unexpected fervor. It was the only way, in her mind.

The blast-proofing computers idea sounded like something she could agree to. It was true--there were too many worlds out there for one of them to be of significant consequence. "We'll get to that right away, then. Make sure to have the techs fill up those hard drives with junk or dated info on the side, otherwise they'll realize it's a plant.

"Anything further you would like to add, General Kar?" she asked, glancing at her ship again, betraying the slightest bit of anxiety. Gen did not want to seem self-important, but she was worried about being caught. She was the head, and there was not much to replace her yet. Kar was about all she had in place should the worst happen.

Mrrew nodded at [member="Geneviève Lasedri"], and glanced at the new general. Things were falling together- if pieces from each plan was used, an even bettter one could be forged. Whoever came to attack them hoping for a few dissorganized rebels were going to get another thing coming. Like explosions. And ion torpedos. And monsters. Mrrew was still eager to use his own little backup plan... They asked a beast hunter's to set up traps. Of course monsters are going to be involved. The Togorian noted Gen's anxiety, watching for [member="Mirta Kar"]'s yay or nay to set everything up.

[member="Mrrew"] [member="Geneviève Lasedri"]

"It all sounds good to me, I will start planting the demolitions in the walls. I don't want them to see what is coming for them. Mrrew, could you find some unpleasant creatures to lock in the base? I would like some sort of life signs to be detected in the base. " She smiled and looked at them, knowing this was going to be a very interesting trap. "Well if that is all, I would like to get to business and plant the bombs, While you two prep everything else that isn't on the ground.

Mrrew smiled as the general mentinoed 'unpeasant creatures'. Heh. So many to choose from... So many... And the best part is, he could have the Guild hunters capture it, and just write it up as a order from a client. He had ideas already. Something that wouldn't be slowed down by body armor, and oculd move in the close quarters of the base... Actually, this could be even easier then he thought. It would be much faster, they wouldn't have to wait for the Guild's hunters, ifthey used one of teh creatures native to the planet... "I can do that..." The Togorian smiled.

It was good to see the two generals working in tandem like this--even if it was not to last. Geneviève had no regrets, but it was unfortunate that she would lose one of her leaders. They were hard enough to come by, and while [member="Mrrew"] needed to take care of himself, it would be a slight irritation for her and Mirta to fill in the gaps he left behind. It would be a hard lesson in taking things for granted, and Lasedri would keep that in mind for the future. She would compose some backup plans after General Kar got settled in, just in case.

It was time for her to leave before the vengeful forces could arrive and end the Rebellion altogether. Again, backup plans. She would keep close attention on her Generals from here on to see who would be best to inherit her position as The Benefactor. It would be best to train Mirta as soon as possible. "You have the stage," she declared to both of them. "Farewell, General Mrrew. I wish success to you and your Guild.

"And may the Force be with you both... and all that formality." Gen hardly believed in tidings, but it was best to keep with pleasant tradition in these cases, for what it was worth. She nodded at [member="Mirta Kar"]. "Meet us at the fleet rendezvous point near Riflor when this is over. We'll make you official."

And with that, the Benefactor was across the hangar floor and ascending the boarding ramp of Intangible. She never looked back.

Mrrew nodded to [member="Geneviève Lasedri"], before turning back to [member="Mirta Kar"]. "I won't be staying either. I'll be watching remotely, through the droids." Mrrew gestured to the various droids, some of which milling about in armor, some helping set up explosives. "I already have an idea for what to put in the base- something local, from this planet... We don't want anything big, they'll be at a disadvantage in close quarters, while teh enemy won't be. We want something very small, and very deadly." He was thinking of the giant insects that roamed the planet they were standing onn in swarms. The reason they sprayed powerful insecticide around the base. "Unless you're afraid of wasps?"

Mirta began setting the explosives in hidden areas and prepped the whole base and even parts of the perimeter. Then she grabbed the quickest way out she could find, after all she couldn't be caught here, she needed to say out of harms way despite what it meant for her men. She set up the op though, everything was ready for the enemy to 'stumble' upon their base. She smirked as she thought about it on board the escape vessel. IT was going to be a very interesting attack, and the lifeforms that Mrrew found were going to be fun.

@Mrrew@Geneviève Lasedri

Mrrew gave a nod t the general as she ran off to go plant explosives, and made his way back to his ship. He had a little errand to run, gathering some of the local wildlife, before he left. He'd spent ountless days on Heklor, back when he first left Kashyyyk. He knew the planet's ecosystem well. He'd already prepared for an ambush related to the planet's apex predator. Butthey also needed something smalle,r for inside the base... With the meeting apperantly over, Mrrew's ship hovered into the air, and made it's way into the forst.

(Sorry for shabby roleplay, I just woke up)
