- Powerslave: With its onboard droid brain network the Praefect can be managed as a completely automated starship eliminating the need for a vast majority of the required manpower needed to crew the vessel otherwise.
- Battleship: Carrying a high armament compliment the Praefect is primarily meant in role to support larger vessels by scrambling target priority and to support formations of smaller vessels by providing bruising firepower inline with starfighter and corvette or cruiser movements.
- TIE Racks: Carrying a hangar load out mean't to accommodate for TIE series vessels which can be compactly stored and rapidly deployed, utilizing this line of starships as the ship's compliment allows for more effective 'hit and slip' tactics meaning a faster starfighter deployment and recovery.
- Watch You A*s: Like all ‘wedge’ shaped star destroyers, only an array of point defense cannons protect the Praefector’s aft at all. Leaving its ion drives fully exposed to enemy fire in a gruesomely exposed blind spot.
- Lone Gunman: Inspite of a powerful armament compliment, the Praefect is best utilized within a larger fleet in order to not only cover its blind spot but compensate for its other shortcomings in regards to maneuverability or hangar space.
As one of the first ships engineered for by the Technoid Manufactorum for the New Imperial Order, its design principles and aesthetic calls on the Old Galactic Empire with its layout able to accomodate for a vast array of gun batteries in exchange for the fatal flaw of its exposed rear the Praefect is one of the prime workhorses of the New Imperial Order's navy.
