OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
Globex Security Officers are highly trained (but not particularly dangerous) security personnel that are always outnumbered many times over by the variety of security droids employed by the Globex Security Division. Their training lasts for three years (including a year 'in the field') and makes full use of mind-machine interfaces to facilitate learning - thus their impressively broad skillsets. Many have previous academic degrees.
Whether stationed in office complexes, watching over the resorts and cities of Arcadia, or overseeing Globex-run prisons, GSOs are trained to go out of their way to be likeable; they are permitted (nay, encouraged!) to desist from issuing fines where a droid would have done so, so as to appear as nice and approachable as possible. That said, a paper trail must always exist - the fine is simply noted as 'commuted by discretion'.
That said, not all GSOs are as harmless - 'Operators' are trained specifically to control intelligence and security operations in a manner comparable to but simpler than Globex's Data Savants. These are far more likely to have 'seen combat', albeit through remote control functions.
- Intent: The very model of a modern security officer to keep the peace on the behalf of the Globex Security Division.

- Role: Corporate Security / Police

- Unit Name: Globex Security Officers
- Affiliation: Globex Security Division
- Classification: Security / Law Enfocement
- Description: As a whole, the Globex Security Division is based around the utilisation of droids, but organics still have a role to play, albeit not generally a particularly risky one. GSOs tend to focus on social duties over looming near doors and patrolling streets - when they do take to the streets to patrol, this is far more likely to involve friendly chats with people in the neighbourhood than, say, actually arresting anyone.
- Unit Size: Large
- Unit Availability: Common
- Unit Experience: Trained
- Equipment: GSOs are normally clad in protective uniforms and may have access to personal shield generators or even armour. They tend to be armed only with a PIKI Ionised Stun Pistol - they do not normally carry stun batons due to their 'association with violence'. They are more often than not accompanied by Eyebots and a variety of droids, notably Scions, Squires, and Justitias.
- Almost always have a PanAUG package; ocular implants and subdermal armouring are common.
- Their armouries hold both sonic carbines and heavier weapons, but these are rarely used.
- Combat Function: GSOs specialise in investigation, prevention, and de-escalation. While they are armed, the actual violence is meant to be applied by droids; the Globex Corporation does not believe in risking the lives of its employees. As a result, they are very inexperienced as far as combat is concerned - despite this, maiming or Force forbid killing them is a terrible idea, as it is likely to trigger an escalated response.
- GSOs generally have a sound understanding of tactical theory combined with martial arts training (focused on incapacitating without injury) and decent marksmanship. Their combat training is more 'practice with friends' than 'tough military training', however.
- Broad Skillsets: GSOs are trained in first aid, forensics, law, negotiation tactics, linguistics, and more.
- Nine-to-Five: GSOs are generally no more willing to 'die for the cause' than your average office worker.
