Description:
The Glory-class Cruiser is designed as a heralding back to the days of the Victory-class Star Destroyer, which would often escort the larger Imperial Star Destroyers or patrol on its own across the hyperlanes. Its primarily duty is escort and patrol duty, though it is capable of general operations with minimal difficulty. However, rather than rely on the massive number of warhead launchers of the old VSD, the Glory-class opts instead to fulfill its role with a staggering array of twenty-five turbolaser batteries. Arraigned on raised platforms, the Glory-class is capable of firing everyone of its weapons forward simultaneously. This capacity gives it a marked advantage over typical cruisers of comparable size, which must often place itself in broadside position to fire all of its guns, if they can fire all of their guns on a single target at all. In addition to the turbolasers, the Glory-class features six high-powered ion cannons to help it flay open the shields of its targets.

Of course its greatest strength is also a crucial weakness. The Glory-class can barely bring any of its guns to bear on its flanks and virtually none of them on its rear. This means single ships are relatively easy pickings by faster, more agile ships. This weakness is partially mitigated in a fleet where the ship is rarely, if ever, caught out alone. It remains of note, however, that Glory-class cruisers that find themselves under attack from the sides will quickly find themselves in mortal peril.
