- Size: Due to Gnolls already significant size, his lightsabers are also massive, being Great_lightsabers with a little bit of additional length, naturally they also have a much wider blade and hilt as well.
- Damind. The use of Damind as the primary lightsabre crystal is part of what allows the weapon to have such a massive blade. Additionally the wider size of the blade makes it easier for Gnoll to deflect blaster-fir as well as just generally making the blade more proportional to him.
- Bondar: The lightsaber was designed so that he could use Bondar using an interior mechanism of the lightsaber. This allows him to stun an opponent as opposed to slicing through them, which naturally was quite a preference when possible.
- Wooden hilt: The hilt of the blade is actually made from a part of Gnoll himself. This hilt Gnoll made especially hard. This also grants him greater manipulation of it.
- Considerable size makes it so that Gnoll can reach most melee opponents long before they can reach him
- Damind is used to make the blade properly sized to allow him to actually use it, and especially help deflect blaster fire.
- Bondar can be used to stun an opponent rather than cut through them. Given the peaceful nature Gnoll believes a jedi should have, this is preferred.
- The weapons would be very hard for most people to carry due to its size.
- These wouldn’t work as well when he changes to be a smaller size, if he gets smaller, he may have to only use one, if he gets tall enough they become more like Shoto lightsabers.
- The lightsabers can’t operate underwater
Gnoll created his Sabers over a millenia ago, two great lightsabers of considerable size made using a Damind crystal to help reach the proper length and width. Using a mechanism to make Bondar used primarily allowing him to stun rather than kill. Gnoll was told he should make the weapon personal, as it should become a part of him when he uses it. What, he figured, was more personal than to make himself a part of the lightsaber. Gnoll formed the hilt by shaping and hardening his own body around the parts becoming as much one with the blade as the blade was expected to become one with him.
A lot might find this rather unusual, to Gnoll it was simply the best way to make it personal. He didn’t feel like being complicated about the solution. That’s just the way it was.
The weapons work well, for the circumstances. The hilts size means he can use them as dual lightsabers either at his regular 4.3 meter height, or more like shoto if he were to reach 9.5 meters. Beyond that...they’d become nearly knives. However were he to become shorter, he might use only one as a single greatsword. Naturally, the size of the weapons mean most species would have a considerably difficult time using or carrying them places. And they’d be harder to store than regular lightsabers.
