Good Way To Start a Day

The One Horned Demon
Cain's eyes began to open. Everything around him was fuzzy. He could make out a noise of two people talking, but couldn't make out what they were saying. His vision cleared, and he saw solid metal walls all around him. His head hurt like crazy. He examined the room he was in. A very simple complex. A small room, with very solid walls, and extremely durable bars. He could probably break out, if he ever got out of the chains holding him to the wall. He stood up, and noticed a window above the wall to his right. There was no light coming from it, so it obviously didn't lead outside. He got as good of a view as could on what was inside. It looked like a person chained up just like he was. They looked to be asleep still. He hoped that their medicine would wear off soon, so they could formulate an escape plan.

Akodya had no recollection of how she arrived in this strange, haunted place chained to a wall by her wrists. Her long dark hair that was usually kept pinned tightly back had now fallen over her face like a sleek curtain, hiding her surroundings from her sight. Ripping her eyes open the padawan lifted her heavy head to study the spinning room before her. Her sides and arms ached and the metallic taste of her own blood lingered on her lips. Her vision was blurry and clouded, her sore eyes trying to focus on another figure pinned to the wall across from her. The room that was holding her capture was of a simple structure, made from cold unforgiving concrete. Little light managed to get in...It looked like she was trapped along with the darkness. Groaning the girl looked down to locate her lightsaber, only to find it wasn't there. THAT was when she woke up.

"Master...?" She asked meekly, hoping to hear a response from her teacher. The familiar voice didn't reply. "Stang!" she cursed, wriggling around to see of the chains were loose. No luck. Taking a deep breath, she attempted to calm herself down, reciting the first line of the jedi code over and over in her head before locking her hazel gaze on the figure on the other side.

"Morning." She said dryly.

"Morning." Cain replied with a smirk. He tried to break the chains by using the force, and his strength. It only resulted in his wrists getting sore. He then tried to very carefully pick up a small shard of metal on the ground, and pick the lock. It would probably take a couple of minutes to open it up, but it could be done. All this protection gone to waste due to a little bit of shrapnel. "Do you have any idea how we got here?" He said as he was trying to pick the lock.

"I was about to ask you the same thing," The padawan admitted, watching the young man pick the lock on his shackles. She didn't know if picking the lock with the scrap of metal would work, but she watched with curiosity anyway. Spitting a bit of blood from her mouth, the girl could feel a bruise developing on her cheekbone. Looks like she had received a beating too. Cocking her head to the side Akodya studied the mystery person chained up in front of her. His hair was shaggy and a heavy charcoal black and he had one horn sprouting from his crown...maybe he was some kind of zabrak? Blowing a strand of hair from her eyes Akodya heard a few faint voices talking further away, their words to muffled for her to make out.

Turning her attention back to the male, she raised an eyebrow. "If you don't mind me asking, who are you, and how long have you been awake for?" she said, her voice retaining a 'calm jedi' tone.

Cain kept his attention focused on the lock. "My name is Cain Laatl, pleased to meet you. I've been awake for about as long as you have. If you don't mind, I have something that I need to do." He continued playing with the lock. It was very complex. A lock with many different tumblers. Good thing he had practice on picking these kinds of locks. His hands began to get sore from gripping the shrapnel for too long. He almost had it unlocked, just a few more slight movements were needed. The cuffs around his writs clicked, and he opened them up. He then walked over to the girl across from him, and began to pick her lock, trying to not to get too close to her.

After that, Akodya remained silent, listening to the quiet clicks coming from the lock Cain was picking. After what seemed like forever, Cain dropped to the ground and landed on his feet with a thud. Akodya had to admit, she was impressed. Slowly he made his way across the tiny room toward her and Akodya's muscles tightened and her hands curled into fists. He then began working on her locks without speaking, she could tell he was trying to keep his distance from her. She avioded eye contact while he worked, finding the close proximity between the to.

After a few moments of fiddling her own chains were loosened, allowing the jedi to touch the ground once more. Rubbing her pulsing wrists she offered the man a small nod. "Thanks." She said simply, before scanning the room. She spotted the small window and frowned. No light escaped that space...it seemed as though it was blocked of or something. "Now to find the kriffing people who did this to us." She said, her sweet tone not matching the harsh words that left her lips.

"I'm Akodya by the way, Akodya Mune."

Cain stepped away from her. It began to look around for a way to escape. He felt all the bars to see if any were lose, there was only one. He had hoped for two right next to each other. He looked around for other of escape. He couldn't find any. He started formulating a plan. It came to him. "Do me a favor, and close the chains around your wrists, but don't lock them. I have a plan." He closed the chains around his writs and pretended to be still locked up. He then took the piece of shrapnel that he used to set them free and lodged it into himself with the force. He howled with pain. Hopefully this attracted the guards attention.

Akodya reluctantly nodded, not really liking the fact she hadn't really been informed of his little plan...but what else could she go by at his point? Moving back into her original position, she manipulated the force to clasp the chains around her hands again as discretely as she could. Once she looked up at Cain again, his plan was revealed to her. The mad man had roughly stabbed the hunk of scrap metal into himself, releasing a blood curling howl. Akodya tried not to flinch as she watched the blood sink though the fabric of his clothes. It was good thing she was a healer.

Before long she could heard the sound of footsteps echoing in the distance, slowly growing louder and louder as they got closer and closer. There was the faint buzz and the whole left wall jerked. With a great rumble the large slab of concrete began to slide to the side to reveal a pair of armed guards. Before she had a chance to study them or for them to speak, she slipped one of her hands loose and waved her straight palm in the air in a smooth motion, causing the strangers to be lifted up and slammed into the unforgiving concrete...both being knocked out instantly.

Cain was glad that she caught on so quickly. He tore the piece of metal out of himself. He was definitely in pain, but he tried not to show it. He grabbed a hold of one of the guards weapons. A stun-baton. "I think we should throw on their clothing for a disguise." He began stripping one of the men down. After the man's equipment was layed out in front of him, he began to strip down. He knew that he had to hurry before guards were alerted to them. He quickly threw on the clothes, and awaited for Akodya to do the same.

"Don't you want to cover up that nasty hole you gave yourself first? The blood loss is going to make you dizzy." She said bluntly, trying to be polite and not gawk at him while he stripped down, and awkwardly avoided his eyes. Since the other guard was so much bigger then Akodya, she was about to take his clothes and just throw them over her tattered and thin robes. After prying the stun baton from the guard's limp hand, she twirled it a little in her hands to get a feel of the weapon.

Akodya dragged the gaurd's heavy body further into the cell to hide it from view, before craning her head around the corner to see if there was a way out. The hallway looked much the the holdings, lined with pale concrete walls and dirty floors. The corridor was dim lit and reeked of decay and lack of care. It seemed to stretched on forever. Who and why did someone kidnap and drag them here? and why can't she remember how it happened. Turning to Cain, who was now fully dressed, she cringed to mask her concern. She could sense he was in pain but was trying to hide it. "Please just apply some pressure to that gash, I'm sure you wouldn't want me to carry you out of here over my shoulder." She said with a tiny smile.

Cain put the baton into his holster. It was a very light non-lethal weapon, almost like a club. She seemed concerned about his well being. "I've lived through worse. I think that I can withstand this." He lied. It was a very intense pain, and it hurt worse and worse the more he moved his arm. He wasn't going to show that he was in pain because it would show weakness. He leaned up against the wall. "Are you ready?" He was preparing himself a possible fight coming up.

He could feel the blood run down his shoulder. There wasn't much, but it was enough to make him pass out in about an hour. He started heading out of the room. He touched one of the walls. It was cold and wet. It also looked as if nobody had cleaned them for years.

"The question is if you are ready, try not to split the wound if you aren't going to do anything about it." She said with on eyebrow raised, before inching towards the room exit. "I now a little of first aid, I could patch it up for you when we are in the clear." She lied. She more then just 'a little' first aid. She had studied medicine with enthusiasm from a young age, and was a decent Jedi Healer.

Following Cain out into the hallway, she began to jog silently close to the walls, to mask herself in her shadows. She could feel his suppressed pain. If the wound was so bad, why didn't the guy just do something about it? what was the point of making yourself suffer? There didn't seem to be anyone else besides those few guards walking the halls of the old structure. Maybe they were the only two assigned to this area?

Cain saw a guard, and stealthily moved over to him, until Cain was right behind him. Cain then used the shock baton to strangle him. He struggled, but then fell to the ground in submission. His head hit the ground with a soft thud, and Cain quickly hid his body from sight. He picked up the guards stun baton. He had two now, which fit his style perfectly. He attached the second holster to his waist, and holstered the second baton.

Cain continued forward in a crouched position. He quickly looked around a corner. There were four men guarding a door. The door looked much more advanced than the other doors he saw around this prison. He walked back to Akodya, and said to her in a whisper "There's a couple men up ahead. I think you should stay here while I take them out."
