I'm Sorry Dave
- Intent: Angry technobarbarians in heavy armour to supplement Sith-Imperial regulars.
- Image Credit: Engineer of Near Future by Igor Kartashov
- Role: Serves alongside Sith-Imperial regulars as combat engineers or heavy infantry, as the situation dictates.
- Permissions: Permission to use Trivohld Technologies & its Subsidiaries
- Links: Gormak (Species), Twilight of Prophecy [TSE Dominion of Voss],
- Unit Name: Gormak Irregulars, aka Gormak Technotroopers
- Affiliation: The Sith Empire
- Classification: Combat Engineers-cum-Heavy Infantry
- Description: Organised very differently from the Sith-Imperial Legion, Gormak Irregulars are divided into only two unit types, War Parties of 10-50 and Warbands of 500-2000, neither counting droids, Ssorokks, and support personnel. Warbands are lead by Battle-Shamans - veteran soldiers with a particularly strong affinity for technology - and a small cadre of Sith-Imperial officers. Aside from Battle-Shamans, the Irregulars use only three ranks, their Basic translations being "Warrior", "Tested Warrior", and "Many-Tested Warrior". Their appearance is equally unstructured, with the norm being the exact opposite of the Legion's standardised equipment and formations.
- Unit Size: Medium
- Unit Availability: Uncommon
- Unit Experience: Trained
- Equipment: The Gormak Irregulars are (in)famous for their tendency to constantly tinker with their own equipment, with most wearing heavily personalised Heavy Battle Armour and wielding Gormak Rifles, which usually function as a slugthrower, blaster, or particle weapon would, though more exotic (and often explosively unstable) models have been seen. They often carry homemade grenades. Their most common melee weapon is a simple vibromachete or a power hammer. They can generally be assumed to have access to the following:
- Ranged Weapons: "Judicator" Adaptive Battle Rifle, "Extinguisher" Precision Pulse Cannon, EWR-52 "Purge" Flamethrower.
- Military Vehicles: TG-11 "Thunderer" Artillery Droid, TG-13 "Mjolnir" Mobile Artillery Platform, Hellhound-series Light Repulsortank, Sith-Imperial Multiple Climate Troop Transport, AVt Barrage Turbo Tank, Sith-Imperial Waveskimmer Aquatic Assault Vehicle.
- Droids: Stryder-pattern Erakhian Battlesphere, Sith-Imperial "Scourge" Mk. I War Droid, Sith-Imperial "Scourge" Mk. II War Droid, Lancer-pattern War Droid, Sith-Imperial Probot, Titan-clas Heavy War Droid, OMYN-series Battle Droid.
- Misc.: Deathmist (IH-COC-8) and XR-Hellpyre.
- Combat Function: In or out of combat, the Gormak Irregulars tend to be deployed to make best use of their natural technological skills; frequent assignments include serving as sappers, siege engineers, and demolitionists and perhaps most famously unleashing swarms of fine-tuned droids and Ssorokks (better known as Technobeasts) to support allies or their own advance. Their tactics are aggressive, relentless, and remarkably destructive - despite this, they tend to serve surprisingly well besides more level-headed combatants, such as the Voss.
- Natural Engineers: Making full use of the Gormak aptitude for all things mechanical, the Irregulars are permitted to continuously customise their own equipment and scavenge the battlefield for components by which to improve their droids and vehicles - more often than not, this translates to improved combat performance, though "unintentional explosions" are not uncommon.
- Primal Fury: Big, burly, and out for your head, the Irregulars are ferocious combatants well-suited to shattering the morale of conscripts.
- Undisciplined: Where the Legion is disciplined and neatly polished, the Irregulars are anything but - training varies wildly from unit to unit, their command structure is prone to sudden changes, sometimes in the midst of battle, and their custom equipment is at best semi-reliable.
- Tribal Culture: Though they have now reached the stars, most Gormaks retain their clan-based social structure, making mass recruitment difficult and putting larger units such as Warbands at risk of clan rivalries erupting into violence.
In the militarised meritocracy that is the Sith Empire, aliens in the armed forces are not only common but encouraged, with some Gormaks joining the Legion as combat engineers shortly after the "liberation" of Voss from the aptly named League of Voss; with experience, however, came the understanding that though many were able to adapt to the life of a Legionnaire, many others were not...
... and the Sith Empire abhors wastefulness.
Headquartered in Pax Imperialis on Ession and recruiting both from there and from the nomadic clans of Voss, the Irregulars were the solution to this problem, albeit one that would hopefully be temporary as the Gormaks slowly adapted to the structured nature of Imperial society.
Composed primarily of glory-hungry volunteers - for the Gormaks have not forgotten how the Sith Empire favoured them over the Voss after crushing the League of Voss, with the ones who were practically given the world of Ession being particularly grateful - the Irregulars are rowdy, competitive, and prone to occasional infighting, but that does not change the fact that they more often than not get the job done.
