WHAT IS THE COALITION
The Systems Coalition is an assortment of planets under independent rule without intention of expansion, united by the freedom and protection of trade, the settling of interplanetary disputes, the collaboration of self-defense, and the intention to prosper under one's own freedom. To this cause the Systems Coalition operates with relative freedom of government agencies as a Light Side organization with greater focus on the welfare of its own populace rather than the expansion of influence and territory.
With the various types of governments ruling the planets within Coalition Space, an overarching government body could cause problems given the mission of the Coalition's formation and the lessons learned from the Galactic Republic's downfall which resulted from individuals being able to control a bloated bureaucracy. Instead, each Member world is its own sovereign state with authority over its own government and populace bound only by basic ethics rather than a ruling body.
The Coalition's focus is internal, on the betterment and improvement of its member worlds, rather than expansion of territory and influence. The Coalition member worlds are able request defense aid in extreme circumstances, reconstruction and economic relief, trade negotiations with internal and external governments, or meetings with each other directly without the need for bureaucracy and oversight.
THE COALITION COUNCIL
Effectively the Coalition Council is more symbolic than anything, having minimal official authority over the member worlds. It is more a formatted council of the Member Worlds Head's of State that has no set sessions and optional attendance when it does actually meet. Normally it is called into session by member worlds or petitioning worlds to settle disputes or to negotiate applications to the Coalition.
Having been founded by Alderaan, the Monarch of Alderaan acts as the Chairperson, a spokes-person and public face when need be or a mediator between the Member Worlds if requested. The Chairperson operates as the First Among Equals, calling meetings to order and reading the agenda, but maintains equal partnership with the other member worlds.
THE ENCLAVES
The Coalition opened its arms to all walks of life when it was formed allowing non-government organizations to maintain presences within their borders. These Enclaves allow for many different cultures to thrive within Coalition space without having to be directly related to the Coalition's mission statement. Mandalorians, Jedi, Jensaarai, the Underground, the Bounty Hunters Guild, and others are welcome to form their own enclaves within the Coalition, forming their own small communities as integrated or segregated as they please so long as their residents abide by the laws of the planet they reside upon.

The Coalition Military is a simplistic entity, with each planet maintaining its own Planetary Defense Force and patrol groups. The main benefit of the Coalition has been the allowance for the planets to pool assets when necessary, such as one planet having large shipyards and another may focus on ground operations, the two are able to assist each other to their own mutual benefit.
