Grab a Cat

If there were mysterious planets in the galaxy at all, then Lothal was definitely one of them.

Lilin hadn't heard of many people knowing about its location. Only few knew it existed at all and most of these didn't even bother to research the world further after learning its location is a huge mystery. But the girl knew where to find the mystical planet after countless hours of learning, studying and delving through the books she could find.

She'd contacted her friend [member="Mira Gyndar"] who had shown interest in finding herself a Loth-cat and told her she was welcome to go for a trip to the planet with her.

It was an interesting experience to visit a planet many didn't even know about, but yet... The girl wasn't scared at all. It was going to be an adventure, most likely an interesting one. Both were only children, but that didn't seem to stop them at all. After all, the Covenant itself was mostly made up of kids about their age and they did not fear going to battles.

So there was no need to be afraid of that little adventure.

With a backpack on the seat next to her, the girl sat in a ship, waiting for arrival. She had decided to go for an adventurous clothing that day, so no high heels.

She'd grabbed her friend along and were on their way to the planet, presumably both of them rather anxious about the trip, coming from the fact that they were about to encounter a chance of getting themselves a pet.

She had made many notions about traveling to Lothal and getting a Loth-cat, especially after seeing [member="Maleah Talith"] with a Nexu - she had become a bit envious of not having a pet of her own. [member="Ibaris Varanin-Jacobs"] had Adas who was a barkspawn and well, well Mira didn't have much of anything. The real person she should have dragged along with the two of them was [member="Aton Gyndar"] but they weren't really on terms of speaking much lately since the events on Yavin IV between herself and [member="Liam Quez"]. Yeah, he still didn't let her live the end of it - but payback would come in due time. Mira kept her eyes on the datapad before her as she rested on the backpack of [member="Lilin Imperieuse"].

It was nice to have her friend around again - she hadn't seen her in quite a while and well - this seemed to be the perfect getaway for the two of them and maybe catch up on some things. She had forgotten how long it had been, then again, time didn't matter really.

A part of her wished she had taken The Ardent - would have been four-hundred times as fast as this public transport which seemed unusually empty considering the stops they made on their way to the Lothal system. She'd lower her datapad and look around the nearly empty transport before raising it up again, propping it up just enough to keep watching HoloFlix. She'd crane her neck a bit to the left and look behind her for a brief second at Lilin and then back to the datapad, speaking up. "So, if I'm getting a cat, what are you going to get?"

The girl turned to Mira as she was being talked to. She hadn't paid much attention to what was going around her; she was more focused on keeping her own thoughts in line and conserved. She had much to think about, so her mind was like a huge pot of soup made of leftovers. At least that's what it felt like. Thoughts raced through her head and were gone in an instant.

"I am not sure yet. Whether it is a Loth-cat or," she stopped for a moment, "a Loth-wolf, even though I understand they can be difficult to tame, even with Animal Friendship."

She looked around the ship and had to admit it was rather empty indeed. People just didn't seem to know of such an interesting planet. Or maybe it was not interesting at all and that's why nobody went there? Lilin thought there weren't many people who knew of it's location, but no way could have there been so few of them.

"I wouldn't want to be a copy-cat and I am not too much of a cat person myself, so I'd actually prefer to get a wolf."

Indeed, she remembered having a cat in her youth. It was terrible -- some things that had happened were better not talked about. None of these would have happened had she had a dog. But that was just her opinion.

"It seems like most of the people have pets of their own. I guess it's time we got ourselves off to find animals of our own?"

Mira shrugged as she stretched out across the seats, watching the holoflick on her datapad. "This is true, but I can honestly say that I just want something to annoy Ibaris." She chuckled softly. "I mean, it's not that I don't like her, I do." She was grateful to [member="Ibaris Varanin-Jacobs"] for what she did on Ambria, the girl fixed her shoulder up real good - but there was an issue - a boy issue. [member="Liam Quez"]. She felt like Ibaris treated him like a pet, and well Mira felt different. To be honest, she didn't know how she felt because Liam never told her how he felt. He could probably not even stomach her anymore and just wanted to add a notch to his bunk for 'X Amount of Girls Kissed in the Pack.'

The thought not only made her cringe, but made her grip her datapad in such a white-knuckled manner the screen cracked on the edges. She ended up grinding her teeth until a cough from a nearby patron caught her attention and she snapped back to reality. Nah, he wouldn't do that, would he?

Having a pet to annoy somebody else? Well, she imagined it could work, she had just never seen anything like that happen before. When she stared thinking more about it, many arguments rose to the top of her head of why a pet will annoy somebody.

Yet Lilin was more focused on getting herself a pet she could love and care for. A lovely cuddle or a paw to hold, that's what she truly wanted from a pet. Monster-like creatures were interesting to have, but she was not the one who'd get these to become part of her family. She wanted cute, not monstrosity.

"I can tell you've hanged out with the rest -- I mean, with the brats -- a lot longer than I have," she continued after a while.

Seeing how everybody else was practically already great friends amongst the group, she slightly felt like an intruder. Although she was sure others didn't feel that bad about her at all.

Or maybe they did, but just didn't dare to tell her?

Mira shrugged lightly as she pressed against the satchel and sighed. "To be honest, it might just be a fling for me - I think Liam doesn't understand my feelings. Call it a complicated situation, but I'm sure in the end, Ibaris will come out ontop of things and well..." She shrugged lightly. "I'll be living a rogue life on some desert planet somewhere without a give a damn in the Galaxy." She chuckled softly. "Besides, it isn't like he and I are a thing so maybe I just put too much pressure on it." She mused, sitting up as she flipped onto her stomach, setting the datapad down on the durasteel floor of the shuttle. She placed her hands underneath her chin, supporting her head as she looked up at [member="Lilin Imperieuse"]. "Once I leave for my little trip and I'm gone for a few months, he'll forget about me. So, I'll enjoy what time I can and well..." She flipped back over quickly and stared at the ceiling of the shuttle.

"It'll be one of those experiences in life that I can said I had..." She'd cross her legs at her ankles and bring her hands behind her head, sighing softly. Unfortunately, the relationship with [member="Liam Quez"] was complicated. She'd make it simple - if he didn't tell her how he felt when they saw each other again, well, she'd just shrug it off and make it seem like it was just a mutual liking and nothing more. Painful as it were to admit, that would probably be the best for both of them.

Huh, teenage problems. Lilin didn't have the problems most other kids of her age seemed to have -- she was not in love with anybody, nor did anybody have a crush on her. It was just that simple. Although, she had to admit, sometimes it felt like she was one of the very few who didn't have a significant other.

Which wasn't a bad thing, but... still kind of hurtful.

"Where are you going? On your trip, I mean?"

She hadn't heard of her deciding to do that before, so it came as a surprise for her. Was she going to leave her responsibilities as well? Would she be away for a long time?

Amongst all of the people Lilin had come to meet, Mira was one of these she had known for longer. They were friends, she could trust her even if she couldn't trust any of her new friends.
