Designed utilizing the best features of several personal armor designs as a template, including Stone's personal armor, the Gra'tua battle plate combines defensive excellence with significant firepower, with advanced sensor technology for maximum combat effectiveness. Due to its significant manufacturing costs, the Battle Plate is assigned to only the most veteran elite warriors of the Aliit Gra'tua. Very few squads are equipped with the armour, so it is rare to see an entire unit wearing such fancy and effective gear.
The effective beskar plates of the armour are coated with a special reflective aurodium coat, giving the armour its golden appearance. With anti-concussion field, energy dampening, and ballistic protection securing an environment proof undersuit, the Mando'ad inside this 'gam is well protected. Additional shielding gives yet further protection from external attack.
Along with the ubiquitous flame projector and knee mounted rocket dart launchers, the armour contains both a sonic projection and repulsor field for offensive and defensive use, as well as a fearsome gatling gauntlet flechette launcher, and for heavy fire, a retractable shoulder mounted heavy pulse cannon. Though the armour does allow an experienced warrior to retain mobility, a thruster pack gives the wearer of the Battle Plate the ability to fly, both in and out of combat. Mobility is key to the armour's design, as the systems have a secondary kinetic charge ability, where moving around can recharge the capacitors and batteries if all power should be lost, such as to an Ion strike.
An expensive and time consuming construction process limits the feasibility of mass production or anything of the sort for this elite and advanced integrated armour and weapons package.
