SPECIAL FEATURES

Strengths:
  • Incredible durable armor and shield plating with several easy entry-escape hatches around the vehicle making a very crew-friendly/survivable tank.
  • Vast array of fire power to combat anything from heavily armored threats, low flying starships and infantry of any armor class.
  • Adept in its role as a breakthrough and infantry support tank, whether on the offensive or defensive.
  • In contrast to its overall size and tonnage it has a low profile, making it relatively less visible than walker type vehicles of similar roles.
Weaknesses:
  • Heavy, resource intensive and slow traverse.
  • Limited anti-air capabilities, able to be damaged easily by uninhibited air power. Also limited hull defense outside of shielding, able to be overrun by enemy infantry.
  • Support vehicle, capable on its own but best suited when supporting other armored vehicles and infantry.
DESCRIPTION
The GRAV-A1 “Demon” is an AFV (Armored Fighting Vehicle) that is born from the tactical demands and ultimately the engineering brain child of Major General Irveric Tavlar of the Sith Imperial Armed Forces. The initial demands were as follows. Grav lifted armored vehicle of a heavy or super heavy class meant to support infantry offensive and defensive maneuvers, acting as a ‘breakthrough’ vehicle in most given scenarios to punch holes through enemy defensives and advances to allow supporting infantry to overtake and encircle enemy positions.

The Demon however despite being a vehicle of Empire wife projection is only able to properly support ground actions from a company level, at maximum allowing for 1-3 Demons per 150-300 stormtroopers, with a smaller more agile Grav-Tank to be developed to support at the platoon level (30-50 infantry). The vehicle is ideal in large scale engagements at company or division scale though acts as a viable deterrent against insurgent light infantry when embedded in armored columns or policing actions, though its lack of any close defensive weapons barring a plasma charged shielding still necessitate the presence of supporting infantry.

Despite the great logistical strain fielding a platoon of Demons requires it is a vehicle capable of great killing power that is able to out range and out gun almost every enemy equivalent of its class. If properly supported the Demon speaks true to its name, reaping death on an incredibly destructive scale, able to output damage that outweigh the great costs of the vehicle if deployed properly, especially in a defensive ambush scenario where the turret down, grav disabled low profile of the vehicle let’s it hide reasonably well from enemy sights.
