- Population: Insignificant; occasionally survivors from the wrecked starships can be found in the Graveyard, though they usually die of exposure or wander out and into more civilized areas. Most natives refuse to enter this area, believing it to be sacred and/or haunted, though some shamans from the local tribes will make sojourns into the Graveyard to scout for, well, fallen gods.
- Demographics: Varies wildly. The natives avoid this location due to its status as a dangerous sacred site, but literally anyone from anywhere in the galaxy could wind up crashing here. That said, the planet's relatively close proximity to Lao-mon ensures that the most common species is the Shi'ido, whose shapeshifting abilities have no doubt heightened the myths surrounding the Graveyard.
- Accessibility: If your ship is shot down by the moon gun, there is a 67% likelihood that you will crash in the Graveyard. Otherwise, this vast region is easily accessible, provided you cross miles of barren desert and rocky terrain.
- Description: A vast wasteland pockmarked by meteor craters and rusting starship wreckage, the Graveyard of Fallen Gods is a sacred site for the local Shaal, who believe it to be the place where the gods will arrive from beyond the veil of stars.
Starship Graveyard - This constitutes the bulk of the Graveyard. Littered with the wreckage of various starships across many different eras, the skeletons of these vessels rust under the desert sun and are slowly but surely being buried beneath the sands.
Shrine to the Starborne Gods - A small and modest but pivotal shrine located on the outskirts of the Graveyard, it is regularly visited by pilgrims. Those wishing to enter the Graveyard must stop here to receive a blessing, lest their journey be cursed.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION
The Graveyard of Fallen Gods was created by gravitational forces. Starships crashing on Zaathru would be pulled toward this particular region, which acted almost like a magnet for the vessels. As exploration ships and other craft would draw near the planet only to be shot down by the lunar defense system (aka the "moon gun") over the millennia, this vast patch of desert quickly amassed enough starship carcasses to constitute a graveyard.
Given the beliefs of the natives species surrounding travelers from the stars, it is not surprising that this area has achieved a mythical reputation. Hence the name, Graveyard of Fallen Gods.
