DESCRIPTION
The Gravitic Anchor is a high-concept device with specialty applications, requested by the Empire of the Lost so that they could use it in their special programs. Using purchased interspatial domain research data from DDSI, House Mecetti Nationalized Industries was able to modify a gravity well projector to force its energy into the interspatial realm. The intersection of standard and extradimensional space is fixed and immobile while the unit is active. This is what gives the anchor its properties.

In this way, a vessel can anchor itself anywhere. It is not subject to being moved by gravitic forces from nearby planetoids or astronomical objects. It does not move with galactic drift. It can not be tractored out of position, be moved with the application of engines, or enter hyperspace while the anchor is active. It should be noted that the anchor does not make a vessel or structure immune to the deleterious effects of powerful gravitational fields, and an anchored entity could still be ripped apart by a sufficiently strong gravity well or tractor beam emitter. Because the anchor requires a significant amount of power, disabling a ship's primary power source will also disable the anchor.

Very interesting and cool sub. I have one question, not much is known about how this tool works. Could you elaborate and explain on this point how is it possible to keep something completely still without anything being able to affect the object afterwards?

I mean, how can it exert the same counterforce as the mass attraction of a star/planet/black hole/etc?
